Indoor Peppers and Tomatoes

Finally, I have a legal reason to go to the local grow shop!

I'm growing:
3 Cal Wonder Sweet Bell Peppers, and
3 Super Bush Tomatoes

They are in Fox Farm Soil. They are about 2 or so weeks from sprout and in the first week of HID lighting(18/6). I'm using a 400W MH for about 3 or 4 weeks and then switching to 12/12 under HPS.

Happy Growing!

Cool man, I'm gonna get some things growing pretty quick. I ordered from Pepper Joe a bunch of hot pepper and tomato seeds. I'm excited to finally be growing something that has good genetics. I will transplant them in my outdoor garden in the spring.. Happy growing...

I plan on going crazy this spring with Tomatoes, peppers, Onions, squash, hops, blackberries, strawberries, and maybe just maybe put in a significant amount of own-rooted grapevines.

Lookin good so far :)

I love growing peppers, usually Habaneros as they are yummy fresh off the plant.

Have you ever grown beefsteak tomatoes? I enjoy watching them grow as well.

Funny story. When I was 17 I grew Habaneros and I picked them to put on a pizza. I chopped them up and put it in the sauce. I took one lick of sauce from the spoon and then all hell broke loose. I was under the sink for 45 mins. My parents just laughing their butts off. Tried every trick in the book, but nothing helped.

I've grown beefsteaks outdoors, but this is my first indoor vegetable garden. My goal is to beat my father's record of 12ft Big Boy Hybrids.

Peace

haha!

12 foot?!

someone is doing something right, lol.
UMMMM Yeah. Considering he put them out in JUNE! He used two iron re-rods as stakes! My pops is one hell of a gardener, but I think I could be better if I focused on plants that I didn't have to hide!

A tip for putting out the fire, or at least toning it down, drink milk or eat ice cream. The fat will adsorb some of the heat. Drinking water, beer, etc. just makes the heat worse.

I found this out one night after handling some Fatali peppers. I washed my hands, but not enough...I went to bed, and as men often do, gave myself a good thorough scrotal rub. About 15 seconds later,:fire:

I ran naked and whimpering into the kitchen, grabbed the ice cream out of the freezer, and applied a big handful to the afflicted area. Ahhhh, bliss.

Then my girlfriend came out of the bathroom, took one look, and collapsed, in hysterics. She laughed until she puked...

Sigh. Sometimes shit just happens, ya know? :dunce::dunce::dunce:

I thought I was embarrassed. lol. My upmost sympathy for your "afflicted area"! What level of "hotness" are Fatali peppers?

Right up there with the very hottest of the habanero varieties. If I'm going to set my nads on fire, I go for the gusto:wall:

Here is an update on the veggies. The roots haven't broken through the pots yet, so I'm waiting to transfer to something bigger. I don't know if I'm over watering or what, but the leaves on the tomatoes are drooping slightly. Other than that they look as healthy as can be.

Peace

They look pretty good to me man. Almost every tomato plant I have ever seen has had kind of droopy leaves.

Well here's a little ditty if you all would be so kind as to help me solve. My "other" plants are showing preflowers, which is weird because they are running 18/6. Anyways, given the size of the tomatoes and peppers now(3 weeks old) how long should I wait to flip to 12/12? I'll have at least 8 weeks of flowering for the other plants. I'm just concerned if I flip the lights in the next week that I won't yield any decent sized veggies. I do realize that I'm using artificial light, but the plants now are on their 3-4th set of leaves.

Try hitting up Terrorizer805 man, he's growing tomatoes along side his other plants. He may be able to help you out.

Your other plants will show preflowers depending on how old they are...regardless of light schedule. If thats the case it sounds like they are around 8 weeks old or so?

Statik-
I took a look at his thread and it seems that he vegged for 7 weeks under cfl's? They looked to be only about a foot or so tall. I think that I will re-pot them and start flowering in a week or so. I wanted to give them at least a month before I switched.

BehindYou-
Watch out for those Habaneros! They can burn you in places you would have never guessed!

The White Widow inbreds are only 4 weeks old! It's weird, because they both started showing the same time(Yesterday). The preflowers are still too small to see a definite sex, but I think the LST did something to induce the change?
