Indoor Lighting Question 150w HPS, 2 LED panels, 2 cfl

Would this be enough lighting for a 4x3x6 setup involving 3-4 soil grown plants?

If the setup could sustain more, i might go as far as six plants, but i just want some insight....

I was planning on maybe getting my hands on some clones, and just putting them in 3-5 gallon pots with some soil. Not really looking to veg very long....

would be happy with a 1/2 Oz to 1 Oz yield per plant.

Just not sure how many plants i could get away with that type of light setup.

hmmm, your 150 i think is good for 1.5 sq ft, however led technology just isn't quite there yet, you'd do better with cfl's for side lighting, like 6 60 watt or a couple 200 watt maybe a t5 for a panel light instead of led.

I am/was using a pair of 150Ws. Done 2 and 3 plant grows. Averaging a little over 1oz per plant. Plants went into flowering at about 1 foot in height.

Now that said.

I have a couple tiny toy plants going, and unplugged one of the 150's. Its a LOT darker in that closet. (and a lot cooler too!)

But the LEDs? Sell them on e-bay to the next chump.

what do you guys think about a procyon 100? Been reading up on it...and for my grow space seems like a nice idea. Yes the $600 tag is a bit hefty...but it wouldn't set me back that much....I'm just trying to keep it stealth/cheap and the wattage to a minimum.

No magic bullet here. If LEDs were 'it' there would be a lot of people using them.

ehhh... i've opted to forgo the LED panels (they are 225 LED ~14 watt)

for 1 2ft 24 watt sun blaze T5 strip....i just installed the fixture...

IT IS MUCH BETTER Than the shitty 14 watt LEDs.

In fact i'm thinking of getting maybe 1 more 24 watt T5 and just pick up

a 150 Watt HPS from HTG....

so 2 24 Watt T5 with a 150 HPS..... will that be sufficient for a setup for six clones...?

I'm not so much concerned with getting the "greatest" yield...but more so with getting potent cannabis.

Still haven't ruled out the possibility of a procyon 100 ...but it is a bit pricey. 150 watt HPS would run me ~$70-$100. Procyon would set me back($600)...and i dunno if i can even see anymore than maybe completing 4-5 harvests using it....(eventually going to move out)...however it would be nice to have a procyon. LOL.

Anyways here's a picture of my setup thus far. Still trying to figure out where i want to place the exhaust fan....but that T5...i'm LOVIN' it....

What you see in the picture are two clones that i'm trying to Veg into nice mothers...for the time being. Left Bubble Gum, Right Deep Chunk x Strawberry Cough

I'm thinking about using 6 3 gallon plastic bags w/ trays....that should fit...ha. Right now its all mounted on some cardboard boxes for height.

Don't think the 150W will do 6 plants unless flowered early, lollipopped, and figure 1/2oz a plant. But thats pushing it.

Try to swing a 250W if ya can, or lower plant count.

LED systems are pretty much pointless for anything but a tiny scrog (unless you do something like build your own array of 5w per LED lumilux bulbs - have fun with that!) simply because of light penetration issues. They don't get too far down past the canopy because of the focused wavelengths being absorbed by the canopy.

I second the T5 panel idea. I use a pair and I've had nothing but great results from them both as supplemental and as main lighting.

any suggestions on where to mount the fan...?

and right now i have one 24w t5 in there...i'm thinking of getting two more...

but how many would be ideal to veg 6 plants.

hey guys. an update on the lighting. i got my hands on a light blaze 400. I ended up getting a pretty damn good deal on it. $440. .

so i'm going to use it and probably end up supplementing it with probably some hps... either 50-100 watts.

been looking into some 70 watt hps floodlights.

anyways here a pic for you guys to enjoy. Thats an update on my babies...the Deep Chunk x Strawberry cough has some nute burn (trying to veg it into a mother to take some clones and maybe SoG the strain). The one in the upper right in a Hindu Kush x Shiva Skunk B clone that i recently acquired. These have been under 2 T5, but now with the addition of the LB 400 i can't wait to see the response.

i might start a grow journal soon and see how it goes.

i'm not expecting an hps equivalent yield, i'll be happy if it fairs off better than CFL's and if somehow i can get a middle ground and get as near as possible to a good yield, i'll be happy. i'm doing this for personal use.

edit: ps was expecting the LED to be much larger in size...but i'm overall surprised. its not that big!
