India Grower's Thread

I'm sorry for not being too active here. Been a bit too busy at work. But here I am.

And I have a trivia for all you growers out there!

I want to understand what do different types of leaves in a plant indicate. What does the difference in shapes of leaves of different plants indicate about the differences in them?

For instance, THC% i.e. potency, indica vs sativa, genetics, health issues, quality of bud, time to flower etc. or any other factor that might be connected to this.
I am really a newbie in terms of growing and would love to get the question answered to learn more about the grow.

I have attached here some photos of leaves from the plants in my balcony garden. All of them have germinated at different points through the last 45-25 days. All the seeds were from the same bag of bud. The quality of the stuff was good so I decided to grow these. I have about 5 different types of leaves in 7 plants that I started growing.

I have had luck with the plants and they are quite healthy despite the modest 5-6 hours of direct and 10ish hours of daylight in my balcony. I keep a close watch on these and have been monitoring them through early growth and transplant. I started growing them in plastic cups in a 7:4 mixture of cocopeat and vermicompost, but for two that started in garden soil. Right now they are growing in much bigger pots and have shown a phenomenal spurt of growth after the transplant. The mixture I have used is coco, compost and soil (yes soil) in approximately 7:4:2. I used the soil as I thought it is natural and it will provide minerals and micronutrients and promote microbial activity. Have used different ratios for different plants for experimentation. In fact, I am not fully following every advice on the internet but mixing and matching it with my father's decades of experience in home gardening. Of course, haven't told him what the crop is! Have planted more than one in one pot as of course some will turn out to be males.

Please enlighten me with whatever information you have and I'll be forever grateful.

great going bro ! plants are looking healthy.
as you have asked in 2nd paragraph about the anatomy and genetics., the leafs are thin and pointy that must me sativa landrace. developd in middle of india. in hot climate . usually northen indian (himachal) plants have broad leafs . so i guess mother plnats are from mid to southern india .
i have good experience in growing those kinda strains ,those usually take 4-5 months for flowering cycle once its starts flowering...
soil you are using is just enough for vegetation growth
for flowering i recommend you to buy liquid fertilizer from amazon. right now its being sold for 500 rs for 3 bottles of 100ml each (greens, blooms, nutes) company name is citygreens..
order those .along with TDS AND PH meter
(you can google about tds and ph )
TDS is measured in ppm unit (parts per million)
you have to feed the plnats with water dissolved with those nutrients. about 500 ppm of greens nutes for veg right now ..
those nutes have all the necessary ingredients .

your plannts are healthy right now .but they are gona require more nutes as they grow large ..

so be prepared..happy growing
CHEERS !

So the plants are growing at a tremendous pace now, almost uncontrollable.

However, I see an issue. Some of the older leaves have started developing strange patterns. I tried googling but couldn’t find much. I suspect some nute deficiency. Attaching a few pics here. Ket me know if any of you has seen anything like this, and how to solve the problem.

Oh and yes, before I forget, first of the plants showed up it’s gender and guess what, it’s a girl!!

Rejoicing like a kid right now. I expect others to follow the suit soon and make me happy.. I just hope at least 3 of the 7 I have turn out to be girls so I can harvest a decent quantity with the really limited sunlight the babies receive.

Will turn on the bonemeal shots pretty soon for the one that has turned out to be a fem..
