Thank you for everyones input. Looks like its going to be HLG. If i dont Build a qb96 rig, ill most likely go with the 320W XL. Just have to figure out how I can build a rig to hold 2 qb96 engines and the driver.

For the rig you just need aluminium angle. You build a basic frame wide enough to sit the heat sink in with a cross section to mount the driver on unless you have it separate.
There are loads of examples in the LED section, also there is a great thread on QB 96 elites.

Best of luck! :bigjoint:

If you can diy an hlg elite id go that route, it has far red aswell. Get in touch with hlg, they are happy to help people diy build. The grand master level show is every Friday on youtube/zoom and the hlg crew is there to answer questions/give advice. Check it out they give away free lights every month.
The elite has 630 and 660 nm but no far reds.

I ended up going with the es300 mainly because I was set on buying local since my state just legalized medical and had some shops to support (they also offer me better deals and rewards). I've only just got it and have only sprouted so far so cant say much on growth yet. But customer service was on it! one of the best or at least quickest I've encountered. I was having the exact same problem choosing between the two and messaged them both to sell themselves.... if I cant get them to take my money what are they going to do if they have it type things.

For the price of an ES300 you could get 4 Elite 96 engines with heatsink and pair of 320W drivers which would perform like two ES300. I've just ordered a couple of 96 Engines with heatsink, I'm gonna set each one up with it's own 185W driver though for more versatility, might get a couple more down the track.

It's amazing the amount of choices for stuff online in 2019....Like there are probably 500 different branded 315 watt CMH alone....and then if u do go LED do you want Quantum boards, or Cob Crees? does that light have IR and UV-a? lots to think about....not to mention growing medium choices, tents and shit.

just tired of spending $300+ a month on my cheeb...:D

I’d put up cmh quality against anything. And yield is great for only 315 watts. I have an hlg fixture (320 xl) but can’t fairly compare them as I only ran the 320 qb fixture for one run before going back to Cmh. What I will say is that your gonna have to work harder to pull the same yield as you would from a 1000 watt hps from any of the lower wattage lights unless you have more floor space to use. The penetration on lower wattage bulbs or fixtures is not as good as the 1000.

What I mean by more floor space is that you could run 3 cmh at a total of 945 watts over 3x9 area instead of say like a 1000 watt over a 4x4. The canopy penetration at least from any lower wattage fixtures I’ve ran doesn’t allow for as deep a canopy. But as long as you have some floor space available you can spread out the canopy a little more and make up for the lack of penetration.

I vote multiple 315 cmh, over led or 630 cmh or de 630 cmh. I think that 315 stand alone fixture is the best unit as long as you have room to devote a 3x3 for each fixture. At 35 watts per sq ft these lights will put out some of the frostiest buds you have ever seen. The quality with cmh is is hands down better than anything else I’ve used( tried about everything but plasma or blurple).
