I hate nats so bad. Good thing is that I can kill them with soap. Sometimes when I throw a banana pill away they start breeding in the trash can, all I gotta do is spray some spray and wash and then I can forget about them. I also used some dish washing soap in my coco, I hear coco usually carries gnats.

If dish washing soap doesn't work i'd probably use some organic pesticide.

Simmer down now peeps! Lets stay on topic..... I agree with unity dunks will work wonders. If its soil neem oil/einsteinoil will also work and it will last for about a month.

fungus gnats shouldn't be able to reproduce in hydro. It's the larvae which feed on roots that are detrimental, the adult flys are harmless... any rate they're probably laying eggs in some moist dirty crevasse of your grow space. take it's probably a basement or cellar? there is bacterial larvaecide that is made for killing off gnats, may want to spray that around... nematodes work for soil grows, and they're awesome... but you have hydro. and the gnats probably aren't coming from your plants... anyways nematodea is awesome.

make a homeade trap. the sad thing is i only learned to do this because my girl never does the dishes and we get gnats sometime from it, lol.... when i grow i keep it cleaner then my balls. just google gnat trap and you will find a million. i found one that really worked for me cause my problem was in the kitchen. you take a bakeware bowl and put a little orange juice or the apple vinegar or any fruit juice really. then you set it in the oven and they all fester there overnight. wake up the next morning and walk in the kitchen shut the oven door and throw it on broil, good bye gnats. :)

Will a mosquito dunk tea work for soil if i let the mosquito dunk sit in the water for about a whole day?
From what I hear yes, I only use it in hydro though, and I can attest to its results in hydro.
As long as you break it up some and mix it in with your feed water it will work, keep in mind it kills the larvae, so it may take a while before the adults disappear. The adults are harmless though :)

Also, break up some and sprinkle it around the top layer of your soil. The bacteria in it will do its thing even if it gets dry in between watering.

Have you ever had gnats? I'm seriously dumbfounded with some of the comments here! Since when do gnats not reproduce in hydro?
Anyway, I'm done with this, I gave a non-toxic solution that can be used throughout the growing cycle! If you guys want to keep producing guesses and bullshit info to confuse the guy go ahead.

Thanks bro . What is 5%?
Ok your in Hydro rite? If so take dunks get some womens Panty Hose break the dunks up put them in the panty hose then in the RES. The neem oil is to be mixed 1/2 to 2 tsp to a qaurt size spray bottle then add some dish soap and foiler only if your NOT in FLOWER.... But i would do dunks and sticky traps first the yellow aphid traps are what i use. The Neem is really good for spider mites.
