LOLZ suicide by cop, She got exactly what she wanted. When will police realize that they should defuse situations rather than escalate them.

Hey here is some deadly force for ya, tell me this isn't a bloodthirsty cop FDD.

FDD your the only one failing here

your quoting a story that is not even in the same state...

prairie village is in kansas

my article was referring to franklin township, new jersy

more than 300 miles from where you story is

hmm... interesting

but either way, volunteering for a welfare check program should not lead to you getting shot

the irony is thick with the entire situation

Police “Welfare Check” Leaves Woman Dead

William Grigg

LRC Blog

April 1, 2010

Police in Franklin Township, New Jersey recently announced an innovative program “designed to improve the safety of senior citizens,” reported WCBS-TV.
Through “Operation Blue Angel,” elderly residents would leave a key to their front doors in a lockbox accessible by a combination known to police.

Police doing “safety checks” of the homes would knock on the door and, if nobody responds, would use the keys to enter.

What could possibly go wrong? What does anybody have to fear from angelic armed strangers sent to check on their “welfare”?

One possible problem is demonstrated by the shooting death of a 47-year-old Prairie Village, Kansas woman this morning (March 31).

Police were sent to her apartment to conduct a “welfare check.” For some reason, the woman didn’t want to be “helped” by the friendly state functionaries with guns.

Oh, but we insist, replied the “Blue Angels,” as they summoned their khaki-clad comrades from the Tactical Squad. Eventually, because of “threats” she supposedly made against the stormtroopers, the police (in the words of a local TV reporter) “were forced to shoot her.”

I want to know the weapon she used to make the cops fear for their lives. I mean, after all she hurled verbal assaults at them and they probably got bloody noses and some loose teeth after those. lol.

The cops must have burned through their yearly supply of tazers and tear gas already....live ammo on some unarmed lady? really?

where do you get "unarmed" from?

a weapon is a weapon. she should have DROPPED IT!! she would still be alive. pretty simple logic. she wanted to DIE.

keep grabbing people.

if this is the best you got though, i'd just stop.

I seriously want to know what the weapon was she had. Probably a sandwich or something. I know if I were a cop I would be very afraid of a ham on rye....shudders, that and verbal assaults would really fuck a guy up bad!! I can certainly understand how checking to make sure someone is OK is not preferable to just killing them and not having to check anymore.

dont worry folks the dead woman full of bullets is there for your protection

you seem very eager to justify this shooting

looks to me like whoever fired that taser sucks at aiming, failed to get both barbs on target, rendering the tazer useless

i can think of at least 2 other ways the woman could still be alive right now even if she was a psycho flesh eating zombie attacking them

shooting her was not necessary

News update. The lethal weapon wielded by the poor woman was a WOODEN DOWEL. I know me at 230 pounds with 13 other beefy guys with full body armor and military grade weapons would shit ourselves if confronted with a wooden dowel. No wonder they shot her, could you imagine the red mark a wooden dowel would leave if it found unarmored flesh? I'm sure a multitude of other methods were first tried but according to police she resisted errrr uuuummmm aggressively made a move towards the officer with the wooden dowel and so they filled her full of holes. Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.

oh and one more thing. We were once assured that Tasers would be used as a substitute for lethal force in situations involving a potentially dangerous criminal suspect, and that the officers carrying them would exercise monastic self-discipline in employing electro-shock. Now we're casually informed that Tasers are "electronic control devices" appropriately used to manipulate non-violent criminals – and even reluctant citizens – through pain compliance.
