I'm a new patient looking for an honest grower

I thought it had to fit all three criteria:

12 inches tall
12 inches diameter
AND
containing flowers

If that's not the case I'm totally over my plant count! I've got some monsters in my veg closet, waiting for my slow-ass sativas to finish up and clear space in the flowering area. Now I've gotta go google the law!

Not like I think the feds are gonna be kicking down the door for lil' ol' me.....there's bigger fish to fry, but I don't like to "curse" it.

Sadly they consider anything over the 12 or 12 limit to be "mature" and as you said, nobody is going to come kick your door in to measure your plants. :weed:

Yeah, I was totally misinterpreting the rules all year! Ha! What a bonehead I am sometimes. We've got two cards here (boyfriend and self), so we're actually *fine* right now.

I try to "only break one law at a time" -- actually, I try to break no laws, but that's not possible with current fed/state laws with MMJ, so I'm always breaking one law. But you know what I mean.....I don't drink 3 beers at a bar, then drive home with a busted taillight, no insurance, with no clothes on. Too many laws broken. Unwittingly driving with the busted taillight, completely sober, with insurance, and clothed -- my potential for getting in trouble has been reduced.

I try to do that with the MMJ stuff too. Mostly. :-)

They need to have a "reputation take away button" on RIU -- I would do that to myself right now for this "duh" moment.

Wanted to add 2 things to this good topic (and increase my post count in case I ever need to pm as I move back to OR this month ;) ): First, legalizing MJ the way colorado (not washington) has won't result in higher prices. The people saying it will are usually just trying to continue to make money selling weed. In colorado after the legalization took effect *every* adult can have up to 6 mature plants growing... Any bump that has happened in the pricing is due to the huge influx of outside interest (and the whole not fully fleshed out supply) but come ~ 1 year into it, prices will settle and start dropping. Oregon will (knock wood) be the same if they follow CO's lead instead of the WA model. Supposedly OR (or Alaska) is the next state to legalize, we'll see if that's the case and which way she goes. God knows the tax revenue, ala colorado's shocking discovery that people will buy the hell out of taxed weed, should look inviting to the state government and the state's coffers. Bonus if the %s stay the same and a sizable chunk of revenue goes to support the schools (since I'm moving to an area with schools that are.... not well ranked... I care about that one.) Heck, if you want to look at full blown legality and its effect on prices look at the country of Uruguay which set the national price to $1 a gram.

And unless police have a search warrant (or you grow outside in full view) it is not within their rights to count / inspect or otherwise interfere with your legal grow. ATM there are no rules in effect for OMMP to survey grow sites, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying and you should ask (politely) to see their warrant before letting them inside your house else don't let them in the door. In fact, try to talk to them outside the house with your front door closed, sometimes police can find it hard to believe they're not being invited inside... YMMV.

Sometimes it's difficult to do that. Last year my stepdaughter ran away with her boyfriend, and we called the police to report it. The guy was trying to help us find her, and it seemed really *fishy* and impolite if I didn't let him inside. I'm as legal as can be, and the plants were small and not flowering, but I was still paranoid as fuck. It will be really really weird to suddenly have MJ completely legal in every way.

Funny ending to the story, the cop showed back up, 'bout 3 hours later with the runaway star-crossed lovers. My boyfriend was totally asleep, jumped outta bed (naked) and threw on his plaid bathrobe to go answer the door. He thanked the cop profusely, and ushered his ketamine and colt 45 dosed daughter inside. Then looked down, and realized he's wearing only a plaid SHIRT, not his bathrobe, and he's buck naked down below!

It was an interesting night.

LMAO yeah, that would make for an interesting night :) Cutting the smell helps greatly, but there's still the paranoia. Back when I had a magical closet I had an apartment inspection (3 actually over the years I was there) and a thanksgiving dinner with work friends some 5 feet from the magical closet and no one was the wiser. Even so, I would always get a bit paranoid whenever anyone came inside. I think you did admirably :)

I really do wonder if oregon will go completely legal any time soon (and if so if it will be WA or CO based.) I know I hope for CO based so patients like us (woot!) can double our grow # (plus 6 per other adult in the house....) However, a lot of people are making a lot of money based on the plant being illegal so there's pushback from places where I wouldn't have expected it (MMJ clinics and what not...) We'll see come november. I definitely know which direction I'll vote when given the chance!!!

What's going on peeps? When I became a patient WA didn't have a set standard, and I became active in hopefully setting a reasonable standard for the state grow. the first purposal was 12 X 12, I stated not all patient grow indoor and that if grown outdoor the plants in veg stage get as tall as 7', before they began to flower. so they did not set a size limit (not because of my statement of course, but that is fact. you can't control plant growth). I would like to see a reasonable system that works for the entire country (long ways from here..LOL), but OR can build from WA and CO mistakes. Just give it time....
