It’s official! I got my card!!!

First Dr visit: 2/12
Certified: 2/28
Submitted to the State: 3/2 (electronic)
Card approved: 5/18
Card received: 5/29

Total wait time from when the state got my app: 88 days.

I am a happy camper to have that ordeal behind me! I’m not leaving this thread tho. I feel like I made some friends here so I kinda want to keep that.

Congratulations yman. Enjoy. I'm glad you are going to stick around. I wish more people would do the same.

Well now I'm upset. I just called the state to try and change my dispensary and the woman I spoke to said I could only change it now if they have started processing my application. Guess what, they haven't started yet. Wow. That means I'm not even close to the date medcardclock predicted. Who knows when my card will magically show up.
Doesn't surprise me; we submitted around the same time and my check has not been cashed yet.

What was odd about it.... Im curious for when I get my card and go for the first time
It was a bit surreal to be buying cannabis products in a shop.
There were a lot of choices, and I think the patient advocate assisting me was newer to it. There were questions I had regarding specific concentrates that she couldn’t answer, and a more experienced behind-the-counter person was wiling to confirm my understanding.
NBD, really, but I was glad I’d studied up on what I wanted to try.

Hey guys I’ve been following this thread for awhile now. Congrats to all the card holders! I did my whole process through medical cannabis outreach in Lincolnwood, I emailed them and they said it was submitted April 30. My questions are has anyone applied with medical cannabis outreach and received thier card? Also how long am I looking at to receive it ? Submitted April 30!!

Hi there dgo61, welcome! I've heard great things about MCO and the owner is very active on the Illinois fb group. If you submitted April 30th you will have at least a 70 day wait. That puts you at mid july. If everything goes smoothly, maybe early July. Worst case scenario you may not get it til August.

Does anyone here who already has a card have 3Cs in Naperville as their dispensary? That’s the one I chose and I was wondering how it is. I’m getting down to around 25 days left I think and can’t wait!

My app was received on March 23 and I was told I would likely get the card in June.

Are there other March applicants who have received their card or been approved?

Hi new people! It's so nice to have some new members!!! Here's a little list of things you should check out so you will be totally in the loop.

1. Wait time is 70-90 days after submission (actual days, not business days). It is not recommended to contact the state until after day 45.

2. Check out medcardclock.com it's a website that collects data from others to predict when you might receive your card.

3. No news is good news. The state should not contact you unless there is a problem. Don't freak out if you're hearing crickets.

4. Leafly.com and Weedmaps are great resources for looking up strains, dispensary reviews, and much much more! Start you're research now, you'll be glad you did later.

Aaaaaand that's the most I can think of right now. Feel free to read through the thread if you want more info.

Happy you're here!

I just tried calling the state again because they told me tuesday they would send me an email but I never received it. So I call just now, and it immediately goes to a recorded message stating that call volume is high and that if I need to contact them I should do it over email. Then the call disconnected. Apparently I can't even get a hold of an actual person anymore... :wall:
