Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I was actually able to get through to the IDPH by phone this morning.

My documentation was approved on Feb 27 and the card is already in the mail. Up to 14 business days.

Ok, apparently it's a game of luck... just called again after seeing Casual's post and someone picked up right away... the good news is that I was approved and apparently my card was mailed 3/3.

A lil communication would've prevented me from bugging them today. Still frustrating but that feels a ton better to know!!

thanks for the update! youve said your documentation was sent in on 12/1, is that when you mailed it or is that when idph received it?

i think that they are getting flooded with inquiries as theyve crossed the 90 day mark with more applicants who had that number in mind.

I'm a Dec 7th date. Just called them I was approved on March 6. Got through pretty quick on the phone number. Said about 7 days after approval should receive my card in mail. Almost done

Got through on the phone number, confirmed approval, card was mailed yesterday 3/7 (see i knew that was gonna be a good date!). Consulting usps service standards to determine new ETA and assuming these get sent standard mail from somewhere in Pennsylvania. would love to know how long others figured the mailing took.

thanks for all your help and support with the wait and figuring this all out, everyone, and ill post again when card arrives.

ive also determined that the usps service standard for mailing to any part of illinois from any part if pennsylvania is 6, 7 or 8 days depending on part of the state.

One way to determine if you are approved is to check the dispensary you chose to see if you're in their system, you'll be in their system long before you receive your card.

Mailed my app via snail mail on December, 18. My check was cashed on March 2. I’m thinking card will be delivered by end of March. Thoughts?

That's a reasonable assumption if they're saying mine is on the way... you're 6 days after me.

Application date: 12/14

From print date to receiving it in the mail was about 9 days for me. Card says issue date was 2/24, I got it in the mail on 3/5.

I am ready to scream my pain is 10+ nothing is helping can't wait to be able to actually feel some relief this is HELL

This sure sucks, you would think they would find a more efficient way of issuing cards, a three month plus wait is just ridiculous for people trying to get relief for their illness, I have RA and I gave up all dangerous drugs that doctors prescribe for this.

Try to hang in there with us... I too, have lost it more than once while waiting. (I think I start to lose it every time I check the mail now!)

I hate taking all the pills too and have also stopped taking some of them because I'd rather suffer than deal with the side effects and the pill hangovers.

they told me it "went out in the mail" 3/7...wonder if thats the same or different from the card issue date.
