Has anyone else gone through Innoative Express care? I know I still have a while yet, but wanted to know their process.

And I’m not frustrated at all, I know it takes a long time, so please don’t take this as I am pissed I haven’t gotten it yet!

First digital visit: 9/11
2nd doctors visit (1st in office): 9/13
3rd visit (2nd digital) 9/20
CC was charged 9/21

Emailed on 10/1 to see if they got my application, and heard back a few hour later ‘it has been received, and will process in order they got them.’

I have been seeing a lot of people getting their checks cashed a while after the send it in.

Any help/advice would be great!

CC is charged upon submitting the app. Checks are done about 50 -60 days after the app is submitted. Total wait time, from cc charge/app submission to card in hand is approximately 85 days considering all paperwork is correct and nothing more is needed. Emailing them and calling doesn’t speed anything up and if anything, seems to have made it slower for some. We all know it’s a long wait going in so best advice I think is to just enjoy the ride. I’m 60 days in and the wait gets more fun. Lol

Hi All.
Brand new to this forum. I just finished all my paperwork, doctors exam and approval (which was more like an interview than an exam), paid my fees, etc. today. Now the waiting begins :)

The clinic that took care of the entire process recommended a dispensary that is about a mile from the dispensary that is closest to home (which I'd thought would end up being my registered dispensary), and even gave me a coupon for some discounts there. I was also told that if I wanted, I should stop in there today with my paperwork and receipts to see if they would accept this instead of making me wait for my card. So I did, and it turned out that that was not the case, and that I'd have to wait until I had my card in hand, which is usually about a 90 day wait.

But while I was there in the waiting room, another patient who was waiting and had overheard my conversation with the staff told me that he'd been making some inquiries about the long-ish delays between approval and being able to actually use it. He said that the state has a big backlog of applicants and a very small staff to deal with them. (He also recommended this forum - thanks!) The good news was that the state has just increased the staffing in this department, so things should start moving more quickly soon. And also, once the big backlog is eliminated and the process is more streamlined, the state hopes to start allowing patients to use their approvals immediately, kind of like getting a temporary driver's license while waiting for the hard copy to arrive.

Day 43
No email. Check not cashed. Still waiting unsure whether or not to email them to see if received. Dispensary told me don’t have them sign for it since it gets done like 1x a month. Dispensary helped fill out paperwork and get everything set to send. They gave me a large envelope and even more than enough stamps. I overstamped just to ensure it was sent.

I sent mine via certified mail USPS and was given a tracking number. Calling and emailing may slow the process. Start looking for the check to be cashed around 60 days. If you don't see the check has been cashed after 70-80 days I would start reaching out.

My time line so far:
State received the application on 8/1/18
Check cashed on 10/3/18 at day 63
# of calls to the state = 0
# of calls from the state = 0
I emailed them at the 30 day spot to make sure they received my application and got the stock "we have received your application and it will be processed in the order it was received". The wait time is shrinking. I'll let you know when I receive my card and post the total wait time.

my time line so far is
last Dr visit 8-3-2018
dr was supposed to send it all the next day
but Dr & the place that was supposed to electronically file it all
didn't actually send it to IDPH till 8-24-2018 so on
8-24-2018 i got confirmation email saying IDPH received app
and CC charged that day...
emailed IDPH on 9-13-2018 asked if i could get a update on status and
asked about i was on opiate so if they could tell me if i was eligible for the new
Opioid Alternative Pilot Program ..
Received email back 10-5-2018 saying they haven't got to my application yet and
the standard it will be processed in order received and then it basically quoted the info from there web site
about the Opioid Alternative...
On August 28, 2018, the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program (Public Act 100-1114) became effective. While certain provisions can be implemented immediately, there is significant work which must be completed before the program starts. The Act requires IDPH and the other agencies involved in the program to adopt emergency administrative rules by December 1, 2018. IDPH will also have to make changes in the registration process to implement the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t want to slow it down for myself or anyone else.

Hey all,

I was in my dispencary’s website, and they had a card time estimator, and you put in your email and state, and they estimate how many calendar days it will take to get your card. Not saying this is true, and it’s probably off, but it currently says 57 days!

Here is the link.

Maybe, but it is still nice to hope! Maybe that has changed in the last month and those of us who submitted recently, will see a time similar to the one it quotes!

Glass half full, or should I say, bowl half full ha
That site has said the same thing since I sent mine in on 8/17. If you actually request the regular updates they will give you a very different date. The best thing to do is watch the trends on this board to get an idea of the current ETA.

If you go with the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program can you still own a gun.

Ridiculous question but either you’re a criminal or not. What does one have to do with the other.

It was nice for me to hope as well. When I received the email from medcard clock on 9/26 stating my card should arrive today, I knew it was too good to be true. Still no card to this day.

It's 57 business days, meaning don't count weekends or holidays. Turns out to be accurate, plus or minus a few days.
