If you could start this country over....

I was thinking the other day if i could start America over....well not so much over but change the way our govt worked and interacted with us. i cam up with some things and well hope you enjoy..

i think we should live in what im calling a conservative libertarian state. Now what i mean by that is very small govt. The only things the gov should do for us is protect our boarders, maintain interstate highways (along with the states), regulate international trade, and thats it. the states should control EVERYTHING ELSE! i mean laws, taxes, health care, etc.

thats funny....

because thats how our govt started

i know thats why i like it but thats what happens when history isnt taught well in school people forget why this country was founded and the principles this country was founded upon and when i look around and see all this control it makes me sick....i bet George Washington, and Tom Jefferson are rolling over in their graves right now :wall:

All we have to do is adhere to the Constitution.
The single greatest blueprint for government ever devised by man.....and it is being shredded as we speak.
For shame.

No it is taught that way, US was a confederation and it didnt work, so thats why we have a federal system now.

But the power (which they don't TEACH) remains with the States- individually.
That's why some 30 + States have reissued their letters of soveringty (I hate trying to spell that word. I always get it wrong. Anyhow.)
Our Constitution must be enforced by the people and the courts. When the courts refuse to abide by their oths of office- our people, and country, suffer.

Our inability to seek and recieve 'redress of grivences' is a major reson why we're in the mess we're in.

The US Sup CT ruled a few years back that 'the people have the right to petition the gov for redress- but the gov does NOT have to respond.'

Talk about 'butt ugly stupid'?!!

So, unti we can hold our public SERVANTS accountable- we are screwed.

Our Consitution is the best ever but... it's OUR duty to enforce it.
So, when the courts hinder our enforcement endevours- we begin thinking about a new government.
We don't need a new one. We just need to hang a few past and present public servants.
A bunch of Bankers too !
And even some corporate exc. including media exc.

im not saying we need a new govt i was asking if you could change the way our govt is now would you and what would you do......but we really need to start holding our public servants accountable. get rid of those jack-ass lobbyists who are really running the country and give it back to the people. When this country was founded it was founded "By the people for the people" i ask you what would that saying be now.....by the money for the money.....by the corporation screw everyone else? we need to stop the people in office from receiving bribes (a legal bribe is still a bribe)

we definitly need a better accountability system.. seems like today the only thing we have is mass media when one gets caught doing shady things

we need a performance review, like employers use to determine whether or not someone deserves a raise.
and speaking of raises... congress should not be allowed to vote for its own raises WTF???? if my fellow coworkers had that ability we would vote ourselfes a raise every 3 months!

Well said. We just have to have courts that HELP the people enforce the right of the people and not play servant to the over paid public servant.
They are basicallt Political/cash register courts at this moment.

Keep up the posts.
Others will be able to shed light on the subject.
(It will always come back to the courts though)

The courts play a role but they are only part of the equation. We need people in congress to pass responsible legislation and I agree with stopping the lobbyists. They are one of the biggest obstacles we face in this country.

"Congress" denotes Federal.
No
Do it in each State and screw Uncle Scam and company.

The Fed needs to be a less importance than it is these days.
90% of what needs to be done - should be done on the State level.
That's why we have State Constitutions and Legislatures.

Once it gets the Washington Deceit - it's over.
They suck power away from the people- on a national basis.
So, again I say- stop thinking Washigton has more power than the States. That was never, ever, meant to be.
We, the people first.
Then our local Sheriff
Then to City
Then the County/Perish
Then the State Then the Fed with limited Authority.

Correcting this mess statrs in our own communities and then it goes up from there.

Hope this helps.

No need to go back all the way. just get back on Reaganomics and all the problems will melt away.... except for the debt. That will take more time.

You will get no argument from me about minimalizing the role of federal government. The whole purpose of having federal, state and local governments was to balance power. Federal government has become so large that it dwarfs state and local government and has become the big bully on the playground.

Atleast you're not being greedy !
Most people wouldn't even wait for 3 DAYS to give themselves a raise!!!

You're good to go ! (grow):weed:

funny how the founders stressed the problems that would come about stemming from an out-of-control judiciary. they have become the noose around the peoples neck and these stupid asses in congress/whitehouse keep giving them more power at the expense of the peoples power. it really is insane.

Our Founding Fathers did all they could at the time. ANd that was no easy task.
The rest was up to the people and their public servants.

Now imagine a few of them being hungry for money and making back door aliances with other disingenuous people. Pass a few laws that don't matter then and slowly turn up the heat... year after year.
The Fed reserve started in 1913 in America. Now look at it.

A more resent one that was kept OUT OF public eye was Codex being passed in Rome Italy in 2005. (june I think.

Every memeber nation that signed it has LOST all rights to herbal remidies and earth cures.

Simply said- If the Pharmisudical Industry deems an earth product to be of no medicinal value- it is rendered illegal to by, sell, grow of posses that sunstance.
The have actually made Mother Nature illegal.

Who? Those who wanted the 'perks' and the money... Pharma and those who live to control others.

And, again, the media was silent.

I would keep the Constitution, get rid of some of the amendments that are there to make us slaves ( fed reserve, 16th etc.) the only other thing I would change was the valuation of gold and silver. In the Constitution silver trades at a 15 to 1 ratio with gold, in my Constitution both would float in a free market and whos values are based on supply and demand. That would have stopped the money masters from being able to confiscate a large amount of the worlds wealth.
