Did you want to drive from AC or can you use a DCDC led driver, would need to run DC led drivers of a 24V plug pak?
Cheers

Do you mean a DC pigtail and a old phone charger? If so I think I can work with that. I'm basically looking for the simplest to work with and understand method till I can get a better idea of how it all works. Thanks I appreciate your help

Hi, gonna get the CXB3590 chips but want passive cooling, what would you recommend for a heatsink with either 4 of these chips on a sink or 3 chips on a sink?

Hello guys,

i want to plant autoflowers with led, i was thinking 100 w per plant.

Can i use 3590 running around 100w?? I only see 50w threads. Or for running high w is better vero 29 and 3070? if they are better, what is the correct temperature for flowering? 3500k also?

Thanks a lot,

I find it a tad bizarre this thread is titled "IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!".

But it seems if you cant afford the latest and greatest cob/diy kit (that seems to be what is being pushed here, pretty much every off the shelf light I have seen posted, or posted is apparently just not up to the job) then there is no advice. Surely there are other led lights that fit the purpose even if it is on a smaller/budget scale?.

Personally, I am a beginner grower and cant justify spending a great deal of money e.g. more than I would spend on a second hand car on a light to grow one or two plants.

So if you had a budget of say £200, not really bothered about getting maximum yield, don't sit there tweaking every aspect of your tent on a daily basis, literally want to fire, feed and forget on daily basis is there nothing on the market off the shelf for that?.

P.S I watched all the COB videos on utube being reference and learned a great deal, I have also read loads on the light spectrum's (with often conflicting information) but still find myself at loss in purchasing a second light. I currently have the much hated mars hydro so have nothing to compare it too but the simple fact of the matter is, it works and the plant is growing. I know it is not the best thing on the market but surely there has to be something within my £200 budget? (which is four times what I paid for the mars).
