I looked at those, more reliable photons for less $$ trumps spectrum (within a reasonable spectrum).
Never mind dude apparently the obvious point I was trying to make was too much for you... Lol.

Spectrum: 12

Now that's the answer if a quality light... Let's just throw 12 different colors of leds haphazardly into a light and call it the 12 spectrum... Lol

2x2x4 Tent, 20"x20" actual inside between the poles.

I see cutter has cxb2530 3k t2 bin for <12$. Thinking 10 of these.

Looking at Meanwell HLG-185-c500b, also @ cutter, just need a 10Kres/100Kpot for dimming?
meanwell pdf states it drives 250-500ma, 431v max.
I'm looking at 360v @.35

10 @ ~ .350 (36x.35=12.6) {12.6x10=126} [126/4=31.5]
So 126w, 31.5 theoretical watts per sqft?

I think SupraSPL stated elsewhere that 18" of 5.886 HeatsinkUSA does 60w passive. so 2x 18" and ACTIVE cooled sinks should keep nice 'n cool with fan failure saftey.

1 driver ~70$
2 Sinks ~ 40$ = 80$
10 cobs ~12$ = 120$
10 Cob holders, Fans, Aluminum angle, etc. 100$
Rough estimates with no shipping, but I gave the last parts tally a full 100$..

So >100$sqft for a long life, good (not high) efficient LED, (near) fail-safe, grow lamp.

Sound good? Can I do this better? I already own the tools, taps, sanders, wire, and much more..

It's well known Mars will grow plants.... Just like a geo metro will get you to the store and back... Unless it blows up. But that doesn't mean you are going to be taking your geo to the drag strip right?

I think the point is getting the most performance/quality for your money. There are better options.

Performance and reliability... That's what we are all looking for right?

It's quite simple. Yes Mars will grow plants, but so will cfls from walmart.

Geo still has good MPG, lol; IMO Suzuki motors are not half that bad.

Better options, SmartCar, Fiat, Hybrids.
Upfront costs though vs Geo, with all at same mileage...
Cost of repairs...
Well a DIY'r would take the GEO anyway. :-D

Edit: Don't put a turbo on a 3cyl engine and it wont blow up.
Edit2: MetroMPG.com (Been a LONG time since I've been there)

Just wait until you see your panels looks like this

This was the 900w Mars II after 15 months
SAM_0306 damage.jpg
and a 1200w Mars II died in around 15 month and I bought the 1200 3-4 months after I purchased the 900 and here's why I got banned from 420 Magazine. Don't you understand they pay to advertise on those other forum but where are they here? Oh yeah we saw through their bullshit so they stopped advertising here

Lets be honest Mars series 2 lights have a design flaw which results in strings failing in the middle of a grow which is a bit like having a car that every time you have somewhere really important to be it breaks down and it's a known thing. To those that wish to defend Mars Hydro go right ahead, but others like myself have had very bad experiences with them, we are up to our 4th failed light from them all under 2.5 years of age, 1 was a mere 8 weeks old. The only good thing about them is ripping the guts out of them and build bars from the components saves a little money.

Are Mars series 2 light sh#t? Well to be honest they really are - and I'm not just saying it I've done the growing with them and now with CXB's and there is no comparison.

It's simple don't waste money on Mars Hydro - build you're own or buy from reputable companies that don't tell fibs about Watts????

I'm so glad that RIU accepts that as growers we are entitled to say something is crap when that's how it is... and a lot of the fanboy's out there aren't growers with 30+ years of it behind them.
