Identify this insect

Good Ole FFOF & Happy Frog gets me every time. 10 days in I already got flyers in the tent
Tell me it's just a fungus gnat please!

Yep. Sticky traps help. Diatomaceous earth on top of your medium will kill them too.

Every time, no doubt.. lmao..
Root aphid or fugus gnat.. theres away to tell,, i think it all depends on how they hold their wings. I might be wrong but there is away..lol

Yup just laid stickies down on top of cup. I put some bt stuff in water for larvae.

Dude EVERY time I get fresh Fox Farm soil out. I guess I should just get used to it. Root Aphid treatment... what's that look like, spinosad? Hopefully it's gnats

get some bti to treat the soil its one of the better products u can use that does no damage to your plants.

Yessir thanks, just applied bti with watering. Just wanted to make sure it's not something else, fungus gnats I can deal with np!

Same treatment as fugus gnats .. i always used mosquitoe dunks because im a cheap ass and they are pretty much at any store..

For those of you that can, start a compost pile. A handful of finished compost mixed in to your FFOF should have enough hypoaspis miles to take care of the gnat larvae before they turn into flyers.

They're a totally different type of mite. If I grew in soil I would act on that tip myself although you can buy the mites themselves online

I was very concerned the first time I brought my own compost inside to my grow. Fortunately the only hitchhikers have been those miles. Somehow they survive the heat of the pile yet no "bad" bugs have made it in.

The hypoaspis miles do such a good job at cleaning up the larvae they crawl out of the drain holes looking for food.
