so i hit kind of a snag in my grow....

reading the counties law...i knew i needed a fence...but i was just going to use some deer netting...:dunce:

now i see no plastic or fabric:oops:......and a locking gate to boot!:finger: that sounds expensive :cuss:.....

how can i make a "fence" that isn't fabric or plastic with a "locking gate" for next to nothing:?:

i looked up chain link fences and yeah it's going to cost to much for the tools, posts and fencing:-(

i live in a forest and have a chainsaw and some wire....but when is some sticks and wire considered a fence:?:

and when is a rubrics cube tied to your rickety crickety gate considered a lock:?:
:wall:

halper my noggin time plz

I made a fence with HomeDepot fence. Its about $60 Usd per 100ft and its 48 inches high. You can get it in 50ft length's as well at 48" and 36" high but I wouldn't call 36" a sufficient height for a fence. You can buy fence posts at 4, 5, and 6 foot heights that have a shovel end that you can drive into the ground with a hammer. its like maybe $100.00 max unless your fencing a huge area.

Shop on Craigslist for used dog run. They go for $200 new, but used I'm sure you can get it down to $80-$100.

Chicken wire? $15 for a 4'x150' roll... All you need is some garden stakes for the perimeter and a few 2x3 and hinges for the locking gate.

Why can't you simply use barbed-wire or plain wire, and a piece of chain link/padlock?. Hinges are easy to attach etc and a bit of concrete should solidify the posts. That chain saw should come in handy to notch the wood like an old cattle fence, then use the wire to meet the height requirement. 4X4's would be best, but I suppose you could sub a tree or 2.

maybe make a wooden fence? jesus. chainsaw + forest = wooden fence. make a door from wood im guessing and then buy a padlock. total expense : nails + padlock and fuel for saw. (and hinges for door)

Grab a saw and go find check all the warehouse dumpsters in your city for their used pallets. They often just leave it next to the dumpster.

i think there is a fine line between a homebrew wooden fence made by babysas and a death trap...

This law is very vague, one would assume they had a 6' chain link in mind, but it doesn't state you are required to use metal.

Not much else to add other than perhaps calling the MCSD for clarification.
