Yes it's a PPFD reader.. like a nice one like 400$ bucks.. here's a picture of it.. there's also a mode FC and LUX.. doesn't even make sense people are saying 1'k to 1500" u'moles when that's impossible! I'd have to have the Top of the Canopy like 2inches from the light to get that! And that would burn everything! Fuck! Hay super appreciative on the replys and any other info! Much love for sure!
What’s the fc reading or lux reading its giving you? I with gbauto it does show anything for PPFD readings or anything. Maybe your bulb is old.

Here is Timber's suggestions for a 2x4.

I realize these may be more $ than you were expecting to spend, but believe me, their lights are amazing. You can use their lights as inspiration for your own - all the parts are listed and readily available, or buy one of theirs. Some other sites you may want to check out for true quality lighting fixtures or parts:
https://www.rapidled.com/
http://timbergrowlights.com/
cobkits.com
https://www.omegalight.net/
https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/

I'm sure there are others, but these are some I use to do research quite regularly. I stay away from the Chinese knockoffs of these since the actual leds may not be what they claim. The above are LEGIT!
I am just torn between COB and LED Strips.

Yea let me check on the Lux/Fc.. I thought the same thing w/the old bulb and or dirty reflector but I went from room to room.. an open air DE' light w/the reader right up touching it is the only way anybody's gonna get 1500'umoles! Maybe everybody's talking about Lux or Fc or something or maybe the Par readers that combine special ray's and spit a # out.. but I got a pure umole/2 reader and it's gonna be hard getting to 1500' like all these universities/people are saying.. I was just wondering if people's words are wrong or if they're mistaking the ppm's of co2 in the same sentence since people talk a lot about u'moles collaborating w/high level's of co2 or what.. lol here's a pic of the reader.. cool brother.. thanks for even replying.. much love.. lmk if anything sparks..

Just saying it’s 2018. I know LED works. I have the hlg550. I don’t even max it out and it works fine.

Listen guys, im new here and I am not looking to argue or make enemies. I am trying to produce my meds with the money i have to spend. Considering how much it would cost to grow with LED's vs HPS/MH, the yields wouldn't be so far apart that I would be missing out. If i get 4-6oz per plant(2) using SCROG, I will be impressed and very happy. Even at 3-4oz per plant, I will be very pleased because it cost me less to grow it than it would to just stick to a dispensary. Plus I like to do things myself with certain things.
315w cmh grow light will out perform cheap led's for the money, I'm definitely not hating, I have 4 of the led lights myself, and just bought the cmh, about the same price, and so much more light. Plus much better spectrum. But the led's will grow quality buds. I just wasn't getting the bigger buds from it. Not saying you need to run out and buy one, just something to consider when you need to replace yours. Look into them is all. For the next time you have to buy one.

Unfortunately the blurpies, Chinese 1500w equivalent dimgogo lights, 256w, but when I tested them the best one out of 4 was 213w.
I wish I had went with the cmh from the beginning, but all I can do is cut my losses, I did get decent smoke from the led's though, just not huge buds.i still use them for backup and flowering. Cmh in th middle and 1 blurpie angled on each side last 3 to 3 weeks

Yeah, dont judge led off that junk. HLG, Timber, Rapid, PLC etc, using the modern stuff is where it's at. CMH has its place too, If you hung samsung strips or QB's around that thing you'd be at the top of what can be done minus uvb.
You might see some far reds, uv and IR supplementals in the better lights but it's going to look like sunshine underneath them. Not the dreaded blurple.

Yeah, I have only had the cmh on it for 6 days. I didn't think this plant would make it, power went out in August, and the heat got up to mostly in the middle 90s. She's had it rough, but she is the only one that did make it. Power was out for over 4 days. Really wanted a nextlight, but too much money for me. HLG are also great, but still too much money for me.
