Can you harvest part of a sativa so late that it's full of CBD and thereby just like most indicas and can you harvest an indica early enough that it hasn't developed its heavy CBDs and it seem like you are smoking a sativa?
thats quite the quandry....
If the THC is responsible for the psychedelic high, and CBD/CBN is responsible for the couch lock, then in theory - yes that can happen.
but the majority of indica's mature in about 60-70 days which is nothing compared to some sativa's.
Im growing a pure haze plant right now and its on flowering week 10.5 and still has another 2-3 weeks left and it seems like an eternity. its been flowering 10 weeks and the buds are so full, but they dont have any crystals on them yet..when the crystals finally arrive I doubt if Im going to let them get to the point where they degrade to CBD/CBN just for the simple fact that it took sooo looong to mature, and Im anxious to see how she smokes, I'll post up pics when I get back home.
And regarding the trich guide, if you want your strain to be like the descriptions and reports you read about it, what is considered the peak of ripeness... Like, which mix would you say the breeders shoot for when they are harvesting to enter in a cannabis cup, half cloudy/half amber?
most reviews that Ive read have the flowering period listed so that pretty much takes the guess work out of it. And from the high they describe in the smoke report U can usually tell when they harvested
i.e. "
wonderful high, cerebral, heady, no couchlock at all"
you can tell that was harvested when the trichs were mostly cloudy, the opposite would be true if they harvested later in flowering.
