Here are some quotes from the other forum..
Some strains are said to be more giggly than others and sativa dominate are more of an clear/up high whereas Indica is more body high sometimes lethargic. In my opinion, each person will have a different experience depending on their mood and disposition. I know some people that when they smoke any kind of bud, they get deep into themselves and wig themselves out thinking too much and others will just have a blast with just about any smoke. In a way it is all subjective, other than the differences between sativa and indica and the ripness of the glands. Best thing I can say is when you are nearing harvest take a small sample dry and smoke. If you like, then harvest.
The best thing to do is pull it early! However you may be chasing history. Pulling it early makes me stoney and heady, sometimes even makes me want build something or rip something apart. But chasing that 70's giggle buzz again... I think it's lost (for me anyway- sad to say) to the ages!

fuond this at:

Marijuana seeds - how to buy good seeds. Great weed pics !

differences:

Sativas are just about the opposite of indicas. They are tall, thin plants, with much narrower leaves and grow a lighter green in color. They grow very quickly and can reach heights of 20 feet in a single season. They originally come from Colombia, Mexico, Thailand and Southeast Asia. Once flowering has begun, they can take anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks to fully mature. Flavors range from earthy to sweet and fruity. The stone of a Sativa is cerebral, up and energetic.

Indicas originally come from the hash producing countries of the world like Afghanistan, Morocco, and Tibet. They are short dense plants, with broad leaves and often grow a darker green. After flowering starts they will be mature in 6 to 8 weeks. The buds will be thick and dense, with flavors and aromas ranging from pungent skunk to sweet and fruity. The smoke from an Indica is generally a body type stone, relaxing and laid back.
Combining different indicas, different sativas or a combination thereof creates hybrids. The resulting hybrid strains will grow, mature and smoke in relationship to the indica/sativa percentages they end up containing. *end quote*

You and I are looking for the same thing in weed. I like it social. So, I went thru his list of strain description and found the one I want to try. Check out the description of:

"Crystal - This plant is a White Widow variety crossed with Northern Light.
Sativa/Indica 50%/50%
Celebral, energetic, clear high with a slightly delayed effect. After a toke with a friend we went to the pub, I felt so positive and open, music was incredebly smooth and fullfilling. I had a lot of nice charming conversations with friends and strangers, finished at 6 am."

confused I am...I guess according to what everone is saying Im definitely NOT looking for something thats gonna have me chill & laid back, I want the opposite..and I guess the opposite would come from a sativa or sativa dominant hybrid, and I would want to harvest on the early side, possibly with all cloudy trich's or 50/50 cloudy/amber..and I would only want to smoke with people who are positive as well ...right?

yeah, good old skunk#1 is a great plant to learn grown with, those are harder to kill then anything else;) almost noob prove:D and well grown a good sledgehammer that puts you on the couch:mrgreen:

honesty, it is a old goody that most won't grow anymore today but waste instead far too often their time and money on fancy strains that ain't stable yet.:-|

I haven't grown any myself, but I have smoked plenty. And from what I've purchased from the dispensary and from other sources, it doesn't really matter what kind of bud it is, or when it was harvested (unless the harvest was WAY off, then it's extremely noticeably).

Your environment dictates 90% of your high. If you are home, alone smoking in front of a TV, you'll get couch lock and just chill and the body high sets in strong. Nice to finish off an evening.

If I'm at a pool hall with my buddies and we're out having a good time, I'll get the headdie high that makes me laugh and giggle.

If the harvest was way late (my buddy just did this) the weed is awful. No matter how hard you try you just get tired and down. Spent a week in Vegas with nothing but this shit and I couldn't stop smoking it, also couldn't go out and have much fun.

CBD sucks.

THC Rocks.

Don't harvest early THC isn't there yet, don't harvest late, THC is leaving CBD is coming.

Get a glass and harvest when the Trichs are 50/50. Try smoking in groups and don't smoke until you're walking out the door to go do something. I mean literally walking out the door.

Yeah i think everyone in here seems to be really into what sounds like sativa dominant strains...i know i am. I would love to grow a pure sativa but i dont' think i've got the space height wise. I'm going trying to grow white widow right now because from what i've read its a 60/40 sativa to indica ratio. Coming down from a really cerebral high is so much better than indica. Getting stoned just makes you pass the fuck out.

Who knows though, maybe once i've got growing down i'll try growing something like durban poison or a NLxHaze.

Yo Spittn4cash , we are on the same mission; gotta get them headdies!
From my experience you need to harvest early to get the headiest high. But, as mentioned before in this thread, it's strain related. I am slowly working through all the strains that I recall hitting the spot. So far I've been through Master Kush, Dutch Afghan and California Orange bud. Next on deck is Nothern Lights.
Down the road will be blueberry, bubblegum and purple haze.

But so far I haven't found that dial tone.

Do me a favor and let me know if you find the money spot, and I will do the same.

Cheers

Can you harvest part of a sativa so late that it's full of CBD and thereby just like most indicas and can you harvest an indica early enough that it hasn't developed its heavy CBDs and it seem like you are smoking a sativa?

And regarding the trich guide, if you want your strain to be like the descriptions and reports you read about it, what is considered the peak of ripeness... Like, which mix would you say the breeders shoot for when they are harvesting to enter in a cannabis cup, half cloudy/half amber?

By the way, on that trich guide the half cloudy/half amber looks like cloudy with a touch of amber on one trich. I know I'm going to have a hell of a time judging ripeness.
