under normal conditions they should be fine, with conditions i mean that they been store dark and dry and not export to much to high temps

basically seeds can be stored for many years if it is done well, of course with progress of time the fertility of the seeds will decrease, but that sets in after 2-3years slowly as far as i know

kk thanks well i just got them from a friend, but he didn't tell me what kind of seed it was so it is going to be a suprise i guess.

No ones opinion will change what the facts are. Try germinationg them. If they sprout they are good, and if they don't what did you lose? a piece of paper towel and an oz of water. Welcome to the forum.
