Hello all, no one was answering my questions on my original thread, so I started this one. I have a couple questions as this if my first grow. When should I switch my nutes to bloom? I'm currently using GH, Maxi-gro and I have a bag of maxi-bloom. But when do I change nutes? And also, my roots have reached water, do i need to turn my air pump off? She is currently touching 9" tall, is it too early to induce flowering? And if so, when should I induce flowering?

All answers are appreciated, I would really like some. As I am too busy today to use my bestfriend google. I am changing rooms for her today, so she can grow taller and the closet she's moving to can be used for flowering also. Thanx so much guys.

I would switch to bloom nutes as soon as I flipped the lights to 12/12. You should not turn off your air pump the plants need it more than ever if there roots are submerged in water. 9'' is not to short to induce flowering but it really depends on what strain and what lights you are using. If your using cfls than I would go ahead and flip it now, if your using hids you could wait if you wanted. Just remember the plant will usually double in height from the rtime u switched schedules.

Theres alot of different schools of thought on switching nutes to bloom. What i have found out is that if the plant is showing preflowers i can switch with 12/12 with no problems. With a plant that has not shown preflowers it tends to yellow alittle, but stops. No harm, no foul. Either way, you can switch at 12/12. or wait a week till your next flush to switch.

Also make sure that airpump is always running. the dwcs only fault that i see, power goes out....:wall:
If the roots are only touching the water it may not have a healthy enough root system to flower yet. With hydro once the roots hit water, growth is explosive. Wait it out, paitence is key.

:bigjoint:

Peace

Thanks guys. I just flushed her out, and put her in her new grow area. The roots are massive, looks like a white headed dreaded jamaican with spikes all on them. There's quite a few touching water. I went ahead and stuck with maxi-gro for this week. Next weekend i'll swap it out to maxi-bloom and change light light cycle to 12-12. When i switch to 12-12 should there be uninterrupted light? I dont think I have it too shut away from light right yet, but I can fix it up. Ill post some pics here in a bit.

Here yall go, sorry for the root pic I didn't think that it wouldn't show-up too wonderfully, but by the time I uploaded etc etc I already had her back in her bucket ready to grow. So here's a root pic and a plant pic.:weed:

holy crap dude that's a massive root system!

The light should be consistent 12 hours on and 12 hours off. There should be no light of any kind in your garden once the light turns off, it's very imprtant!

K, preciate it man. Yea, those roots are 5 days worth of growing. I guess when ya'll say when they hit the nutes the growing explodes, it's really true lol. I just moved my baby into a closet, and where she was originally the light was maybe 4-5" away. Now I have it about 1.5'. Is that ok? I'm wanting it to grow taller and not so bushy. She isn't real green either, is that a problem?

Forgot to mention, she's just an ordinary bag-seed. No big money plant yet lol.
