I Need a little help choosing my LED light.

What about a FACTORY THAT MAKES PANELS TO INDIVIDUAL COMPANIES SPECS DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?

Clearly, SF parts and execution have little in common with Mars, and yet HLG casts aspersions on SF with ZERO proof
Have you ever been to China and visited the Mars/Spyder farmer factory? You seem to be very knowledgeable in this matter so can you please share some pictures of the facility or something a bit more that your claims. In your opinion because a product looks different it can not be manufactured by the same company right?
Please quote what Stephen from HLG has told you, maybe my memory is bad but I am pretty sure he stated that HLG and Mars are made in the same factory. From that you seem to want to make a big deal out of it and now say that they use the same company to make the panels but they are different companies.

ALl you need to do is visit he few LED threads and scroll through them for your clarification

No, I have never been to China, and doubt you have either (but using youre logic, please show pics of yourself in those factories), but I know about LARGE manufacturing facilities that specialize in certain product genres, be they toasters, microwaves, rubber products, boat hulls... Such companies can build whatever the customer wants. It's up to the customer to provide the specs GIGO or quality is up to the spec sheet and the clients budget

That you do not choose to use your brain to understand this is your problem. I choose not to engage you anymore

@MarsHydrofactory does your company own the factory that your company builds lights in? Does your company outsource "Panels" to be made by another factory?
I have been to China and visited factories there many times, it is really not uncommon for several brands to operate under one roof but with the same owner. This is how they market diversity, One brand makes the really poor quality for many years then they make a new company to make something else as the original brand name was trash. That's how it is. 5 brands under 1 roof with 1 owner is not uncommon.
That is my experience from visiting the country that manufactures these products. Yours would probably be much more educated than mine as you have done your research on google and google is more accurate than first hand knowledge. Maybe now is the time for you to name drop Nick from BML and mention how you are responsible for the success of Fluence

You know this how?
It was posted on page two of the "Surprised to see Hlg slumming it" thread, straight from HLG.

What most do not realize is Spider Farmer is Mars Hydro...... They send this stuff straight to a Amazon warehouse from China. They can sell this stuff super cheap because thier predatory government subsidizes them 20%. All while I pay taxes on my inventory every year let alone corporate tax and then my personal income tax. American companies cost of doing business is a lot higher than China. Then you wonder why you can't find a living wage job.......

Also there are millions of rejected LEDs sold on the Chinese black market every day. So saying it's the same thing isn't true.

We are innovating. The Rspec is about 1 year old. We have a DE replacement coming this month that is 2.8 umol/j+ and a rack light in 2-3 months that will crack 3.0 umol/j. No our rack light isn't a bar light either. Only hold up on rack light is drivers.

We could have kept building our boards in China like the very early days but instead we took the leap of faith, borrowed nearly a million dollars, bought the equipment to build it right here in the US and created good paying jobs. Before we did that we signed a multimillion dollar P.O. with a US manufacturer in Michigan not knowing if we would go bankrupt or what. We hadn't even sold 2k boards at that point. You wanna talk about risk. I poured every last dollar to my name into this company to the point I was behind on my house payment. So no I do not feel one bit guilty about throwing shade at some Chinese company that rips our product off, uses our product name to drum up business. Spider Farmer lies about thier efficiency, they lied and said ETL certified when it was not. They used quantum board over and over when we asked them nicely to stop several times. So yeah I don't care much for MARS HYDRO/SPIDER FARMER

We innovative they imitate. Sure we have to stop companies from using our trademark. Hell China was printing our name on boards and selling them. People would call for warranty service and it wasn't even our stuff. It hurts us if someone buys a "Quantum Board" and it has inferior LEDs on it or burns out early.

Not one single person here would feel any different if they came out with a product to only get copied by the Chinese.

Hi Rollitup,

It's been awhile since I was on here. The LEDs of today look great. I hadn't been paying attention but man they are producing real beauties. So I'm finally gonna jump in. I'm gonna do a closet grow tent 2x4x7 maybe a flood and drain (I don't know yet still open to ideas) with budget of 800/900, 300/400 for the flower light.

I was looking at SF2000 for 300 but I was disappointed that its only good for a 2x2 (I know I only have a 2x4 but still lol) then I found on Ali a knock off SF4000 for 290 shipped then saw some QB's then I started reading up the on the 3000k 35000k differences and how now added UV is the new thing you have to have (RIght or no?).... Its all confusing.

As of now I was thinking about just getting 2 of the 115usd Kings 3000K with red diodes and UV but Im not too sure.. I really love the PRETTY Spider style Bar LIGHTS :-P but I don't know if they are any good ones at my price range (Doubt it). I just wanted to know rollitups opinion. I haven't grown in awhile and I'm just getting back in the saddle. Don't shame me too hard lmao.

Any Opinions at all? Any replies are appreciated thank you for your time.
Are you trippin, bro? The SF2000 has a flowering area of 2x4. It’s perfect for your tent, and is very fucking efficient.

FYI, SF does not have "QUANTUM " boards, which, BTW, is nothing more than a marketing name gimmic that HLG uses. I know, I asked, and they responded in another RIU thread. Pathetic, really. He also said that SF and Mars are made by the same company. Well, that is just another of his highly misleading comments. It appears they are both made in the same independent factory that builds LED panels for lots of companies to those companies specs!

IMHO, HLG, like Mars does not deserve our business

But SF seems the real deal light for a inexpensive grow light. It is well thought out. Their biggest shortcoming is easily addressed by the buyer by simply putting risers/spacers between the driver and the board.

You don't need to fill the perimeter of a grow tent with leds: a 2000 should work just fine, but if not, then consider adding a 1000

Now, to F & D, which I have lots of small tent experience using

It eats up a good bit of height (~ 1.5ft) + the height of the totes ~ 1.5ft), you need some clearance above the panel (panel + clearance ~ 1ft) leaving you with only 3ft for plants. I use blocks at the tent corners to raise it higher (don't worry about light leaks at the bottom). You can do LST to spread horizontally with a single plant, or grow a bunch of small plants (preferably Indica) by not vegging more than ~ 2-3 weeks. I bought the Cube system from BB&B, it's for kids to make indoor tents using sheets

Here's some pics
. Spot on accurate info.

I trust Stephens words.
I don’t know Stephen, but I use Spider Farmer. I stand corrected. They are good lights though. I don’t think we should all be hijacking the thread with arguing though. The poster needed help. I didn’t realize there was a major fight going on in this forum. Better to help the poster I think. Thanks for correcting

Op , you buy what you feel your money will be well spent , just a little sleuthing pays off.

Many growers use a variety of lights , all crowing about how good they are. But know that oversea dealers often clone / copy lights for quick sale / resale. Many here also run good grows with king brite , Rita fang boards and such. I found out also Mars hydro / SF also share a phone number with “ Best Led grow lights “ ( Facebook / Ali express ). Copying of products happen in ALL products , think about sporting events hawking “ official “ shirts , swap meet Nike / FILA , swap meet apple accessories, etc.

It is what it is .... HLG makes their boards in house ( Tennessee ) , have good customer service and more importantly “ support “.
There are some good rigs available from Alibaba BUT look at other growers results and builds . Lurk the forum. Amazon can be a rabbit hole ( cheap lights / wonky return issues ) especially on blurple.

Good Luck on your journey. Happy Growing

PhatNuggz is just upset that he purchased a light from a company he hates and thinks he knows how the world works because he uses google so that gives him the right to say that people shouldn't purchase anything from an American company that has done nothing but help reduce the prices of led lighting for everyone by being honest.

Believe who you want, but I ask you, since Mars has a shit reputation for building very crappy lights (even though of they late they are somewhat better), why is SF such a superior design and execution

I rest my case
