I KNOW CUSTOMS INSPECTED MY ORDER BECAUSE....

I know US Customs inspected my package because they drill 2 small 1/8 inch holes through the package.

I lost a couple valuable rare coin packages in the mail that had been mailed from the UK. The packages were heavily insured so the Customs people assigned me a postal inspector to work with. We talked for quite a while and she told me how they (US Customs) investigate incoming mail from overseas. She said they look for small packages they suspect of holding explosives or drugs. They drill 2 small holes near the centerline of the package and use a machine with a sniffer probe to sniff the package. If contraband is detected they confiscate it and send the recipient a letter acknowledging the confiscation. She said they NEVER go to someone's house for a package being sent to them. Most of the time the sniffed packages turn up clean. They put tape over the holes and send the package on. Since then I have found 4 or 5 of my incoming international packages with the tape over the holes. I wouldn't have seen them unless I knew what I was looking for.

So check your incoming packages guys and let us know if you find the telltale sniffer holes. Next time I get one I will post some pix. Be careful out there, BigSteve.

oh shit, I'm gonna go change my gift to something "lighter" this time. I just put in an order 1 hr. ago

If you are talking about Attitude your best bet is to go with the "stealth mode" shipping option. Costs an extra 7 or 8 pounds but they will replace any lost order for free. I've had to do it twice. BigSteve.

Yeah, I do that. This time I picked a different "gift" than I usually get. I just tried to change. no go.
Even though it would get replaced, I don't ever wanna go there. i'm like 30/30 ;-)

Good info there and thanks for sharing. That's why many of the smart growers here do not need to place orders every year, because they have done some selective breeding that takes care of the bean needs. I think its BS that they would even confiscate beans that are merely a cool souvenir... right? Peace

"A fella told me one time...if I be real quiet, no one will know how dumb I am!"

I believe Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying " 'tis far better to be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt". Classic!

BigSteve.
