I hate trimming thread!

Since doing whole plant harvests I was hitting 18%, 19% then 16% but that one was dried in grow room hot dry windy. Then 17%, 15.5% twice. I did a couple 13% was starting to question things and led to here, was a 60/60 issue. Got a 17% that possibly could of been a 19%. Who knows how higher the others would of been too.

I got one big plant left idk what it is but will see. These are all 6-7oz clones. A couple of the initial ones I mentioned were smaller but ya. I dont think I lost the pheno. Its just a performance thing if anyone did the same thing as me they wouldnt always have 20%.

The 15% low temp was so blond it was basically clear and shattery but thats on a good day. It could be much lower so I just stick with 220F for the highest. It looks great as yall saw and potent, so why not. Easier to collect to but sometimes hard regardless due to extra terpy. A lot of times those retain more flavor with time.

Sometimes like now its very flavorless but lower temps I doubt would improve that. This increadible inhale and exhale and after taste was more present in the high temp press.

My pheno doesnt yield anything like 7% at 175F. Idk if I ever done 200F I just know 220F loosens it up and becomes free flowing. Its more tasty and potent for some reason and more yielding literally double. I read you can do 1.5 min at that temp but I just do 45 sec.

I dont notice any difference pressing longer, slower. Only thing that sky rocketed yield was 220F, hand trimming and now 60/60 drying I learned. I think it works the same with all strains, Id just try a lower temp if it does better quality and yield that way.

I had someone here press for me a pheno I was interested in and was nice enough to try that. It was slightly less yielding and different texture at 220F so obviously do the 175F. This pheno I got just aint like that tho its the opposite except it yields nothing at 175F worth keeping.

I’m usually right around 210F for nugrun. 200-220.
Usually around 170 for squishing concentrates.

trimmin. Had to figure out how to get the dry space dryer. I just put up a drop cloth plastic sheet to isolate the area to a small 25 sq ft area. Its working tho, Im happy so I got to trimmin. Would work better if I made it more air tight.

Done besides clean up and putting bud on dry shelf. Taking bud off the foil, I just do it to help put it somewhere mobile and just the way Ive done it since the beginning. Clean surface. Now to dump or take each nug one by one onto herb shelf. Dumping might make it lose yield tho.

Shit Im just so used to leaving it on the foil. Smoke break then back at it. Probably 7oz based on history.

I sure as hell hope its more than 12%. Even with 60/60 my main pheno. It does melt right away when pressing like it does when its 20% or close. For sure more terps and visual appeal like I expected but was also expecting yield. Hoping the 12-13% clones were really 15%.

I cant trace back where each clone came from it could of been 3 diff clones. Ok I just back tracked and believe they all came from the same clone which did 18%. That clone birthed 3 clones which 2 did 15.5% and one did 17%. The clones I did this last run of 4 came from those which did 12%, 13%, 17% and this one Im about to press potentially 13%.

I been struggling with flower yield on these last 4 clones too. So all 6 clones I got now came from the very last clone Im still processing. So no going back only logical idea rational like I been trying to be.. Just see if they all match or vary. If they match Im back to wondering if I swindled away my pheno or its just unpredictable.

If unpredictable Idk about continueing or finding a new pheno thats higher yield so the lows can be what my highs are now. If it even works like that, maybe 7-12% is something it can be at a minimal and the rest is when things are all going freakishly well.

Maybe its just a trait and theres better out there that I need to find asap. Could be a lesson in itself that working with what you know is better. I think I should do two runs to think about it then the 3rd run I can phase in the new plan. So I can see results and still keep the product coming.

Idk if I should be looking at commercial grows how they would answer this. Do your prized phenos exclusively for extracts let you down sometimes yield wise? Knowing yield is so important being for profit and labor/supplies put in. Would you think you can lose a pheno by not keeping a mother like I wasnt?

Growing something new is like finding a new job. While owing money to people and explaining to them it takes a few weeks to get your actual income. Essentially that you really dont know what your going to get paid in the long run for a few grows. The downsides of working with it and theres a lot to check out on a list. I was able to build a lot on this reliable pheno.

I still havent found a higher flower yielding plant so if I get half the flower yield but double the extract.. Considering what Im going through I could get half the extract yield too. Im losing some yield but only like a oz of flower, it still can be improved with more veg or maybe thats another problem.

This insane I keep changing plans. Or adding to them really. Somethings arent all the same but rather I grow a new plant each run or all at once after a couple grows seems the same. I think Il germ a bean and just give up a space for that. Idk what do yall think, Im at a loss. Maybe what Im thinking is just fine.

I dont think loss of pheno is it Im of course bummed but just thinking about it.. Which Im due to take a rest on clearly. Its just unpredictable but having one spot open for slowly finding something new shouldnt hurt. That was the original plan anyway.

I just need more runs and data so Im stuck with what it is.
