I can barely pay rent, how do I deal with it without my 'alternate job'?

Basically I want to eliminate my bad habits of making money. Its just fucking annoying and drives me paranoid. Without dealing i make like barely enough to pay rent and car insurance which is... 600ish a month. Like seriously I'd have about 150 dollars a month to spend outside of insurance and rent. Now dealing puts me over the top I make a shitload lol

But I dont want to deal anymore. I'm riddled with paranoia and its just too much, I want a modest job and a modest life that I can actually live..

What are song long term/short term investments or soemthing I can make to help me out here about 2 years down the road?

Like how did you guys live in your 20s?

I work two jobs, around 70+ hours a week total, that' how I get by now. When I lived in an apartment a few years ago when I was in my early 20's I didn't have cable/phone/internet etc. and I was very frugal with the heat, AC and electricity.

I was used to not having AC or heat from growing up poor so it didn't bother me, I just opened the windows in the summer and put more blankets on the bed in the winter. I remember when I went to pay the electric bill for the first time the lady asked if anyone lived there.

I don't know if this helps either but one way to put food on the table cheaply is to go hunting, I haven't been in a while but feral hogs are great for making sausage and most ranchers will let you hunt them here in texas for free because they are being overrun. There's currently no limit on them and it only takes one or two to fill up a deep freeze.

and once you graduate you have unlimited job potential... move to a mmj state... that's what I want to do.

WORST IDEA IS TO GO TO SCHOOL. do you know that warren buffet is sponsoring an idea to tell kids to NOT go to college since its a waste of time and money.

there are no jobs out there and going to school to get a degree to get a job thats not available makes no sense.

Be your own boss and work for yourself.

I hear ya man, my cousin is in a ton of debt from all the loans and he has nothing to show for it. He's working a pretty good job, but it's one he could have gotten without college.

Yeah I mean I already have a bachelors in psychology so that kinda gets me some good jobs OUTSIDE of the psychology field. I want to go back and get my masters, but community colleeges won't do it. And I can't get a job with just a bachelors :(

Universities are too expensive. Why not just become like an audit or drug dealer?

Great Idea!! Get into more debt so that you can have an even harder time of things!!!!!! BTW recent college graduates (Within the last 2 years) are currently at 12% unemployment, which means that no one gives a shit if you went to college. Going to college does not guarantee you a good job or "unlimited potential" either.

I just graduated from school last year. I would suggest going to school if you need the money as the loans will help out. It will also help you find a potentially new customer base but there are some dangers in it. Go to school and study something you like. I have a lot of student debt but there is not much out there right now so take your time in college.

I think school is a great idea, although at the same side of it, I have different circumstances than the majority as I am ex-military along with having access to funds through family trusts for college so I do have a lot of things on my side for the school side of the conversation.

Yes I do support the military, 100% but if I could do it again I would change some of the portions of the military I went towards because now I have a bullet wound, bum knee, hearing loss, PTSD, and much more. I am not saying do not join the military at all. I just highly suggest choosing a job that will not put you right out in the front lines. I was originally a Crew Chief for HH-60 helicopters and cross trained into Special Ops - CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue). Don't go in thinking oh damn I'm a badass if you have infantry or something because there is a line that can and will be crossed at some after some of the things you will see..

Sorry about that, I just really think people should know this information before they make a potentially life threatening choice (RIP Schween).

But as far as answering the OP's post, move to MMJ state and then open up out there. If you do not have the funds currently I suggest a few small grows to just get the capital, then when you have some money saved up, move out and start up a grow in a MMJ and then you can start making big money.

I think school would be a good option for you man. Even if a 4 year college isn't quite your thing, there a plenty of technically school around that will teach or some kind of trade in two years. It can seriously change your life. Those were the best years of my life I wouldn't trade them for anything. A lot of tech schools and 2 year programs don't require SAT scores, but if you would consider a 4 year university you'd probably want to act fast to get SAT scores in time for next year.

NO NO NO, what the fuck dude, did you not realize that this country is in more debt from student loans than they are for credit cards. The business of going to college was played out just as well as getting another credit card in the mail, people fell for it.

Learn a trade, don't collect degrees that will only collect dust.

Wow, whatever school you graduated from fucked you, because your financial and common sense are way off course. Take your time in college, acquire a bunch of debt, hide out and party......really, is this your idea of how to survive in the adult world of cut throats? People like you are going to be in debt their whole lives, so save the financial "advice".

and why are you only making 600 a month? You realize there are lots of jobs out there availiable, you just might have to scrape shit off a dairy farms milk room or something of the like.

not everyone gets to wear a suit and drive a red sports car to work dude.

if you live in a major city try ups youll have to start out as a loader and if you double shift during peak you can make about 1500-1800 a month easy and in a few years you can try to be a driver and make 70-90k a year with no drug tests. although the company is a complete shit it pays decent for having no requirments.
