hi,
Im doing a PC grow with a big server case with 3 26w and 1 exhaust fan right beside the light so the temp are under 80
My RH is at 10, I mist the inside, put a bowl of water and a towel and its still at 10-20......Perhaps my 2$ RH Thermometer is crap

Ive read low humidity is not really a problem, any input on what to do if its a problem ?

thanks

Humidifier directed at your intakes maybe?
I had low humidity like you with my last grow, I didn't worry too much about it. I just had a jar full of water near the intake inside the case, didn't raise it much but wasn't much else I could do, couldn't afford humidifier lol

I'm sure someone else will chime in with other possible solutions :)
Good luck man!

soak a towel and hang it inside your room it helps, also if you dont have heat problems reduce the exhaust amount.
once your plant starts to grow RH will increase so dont really have to worry about it. just use a humidity dome for when its young to prevent it from drying out

I have low humidity it is much better than high humidity...I mean low humidity the plants might need to be watered more often, but with high humidity they can mold...so be glad it is too high...what lights are you using...if you are using HID lighting with a reflector you can set small cups of water on top of the light and the heat will evaporate the water thusly wetting your atmosphere a little bit...but I have never seen a plant suffer from the humidity being too low, unless that plant was underwatered, or too hot...as long as you keep the plants cool it won't matter if it is a little dry

10-20% RH sounds just really low in general. what hygrometer/thermometer are you using? even during the driest days of winter my RH never dipped below 30%...it was kind of worrisome, especially since it was when they were seedlings; but i just kept and extra cup or two of just water sitting in the box. it would only bump it up a couple percent, but it was something. you could use a sponge on a plate or something..i think that would put more water in the air, but also need changing out more often. if they're unsprouted, you can put a humidity dome over the container/seed. just remove it as soon as it sprouts

I'm going to guess your hygrometer is the issue, since that seems really low to me too. I'm using this one (which seems to be no longer available on Amazon), and I'm very happy with it:

It logs the high and low, which I copy to a spreadsheet and reset each day, allowing me to make purrty charts like this:

I would highly recommend it if you can find one somewhere else online, and I picked it up for less than $20. Best part is since it's wireless I can just put the monitoring unit on my desk and it looks just like a normal clock/temperature gadget. No need to actually crawl up in the attic and visit the grow box to take measurements!
