The hairs will all go amber or toast like, then shrivel back, that is when you "think" they are done, so from there give them 10-14 days more and you will see the bud (calyxs) start to swell, and then they swell fast ! Once they stop swelling they are RIPE. Does not take long once you see one little calyxs swell

a decent jewelers loupe can be found for about ten dollars. craft shops, rock shops, and jewelry supply stores all carry them. Once you find watch trichs and wait until 75-80% have turned amber colored.

Last 2 weeks raise your lights.
Ever notice how the side that is away from light gets most resin, or how lower buds smell better and have more resin.

aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh coooolllll.... So the 24 - 48 hr darkness myth work ?

"Myth?"

"The Stichting Institute of Medical marijuana (SIMM), the first company to sell marijuana through the pharmacies of Holland, has been investigating the medical possibilities of cannabis, together with TNO laboratories and the University of Leiden. One of their discoveries has been that to keep the ripe plants in the dark before harvesting could increase their potency.

SIMM’s growers separated a crop of mature plants, harvested half of them and kept the other half in absolute darkness for 72 hours before cutting and drying. Analysis of the resulting dried buds showed that some varieties had seen an increase of THC of up to 30%, while CBD and CBN remained the same."

Most "myths" can be safely tested in your own garden and some "myths" are just rubbish and one should be smarter than that ie, P ing in plant soil, etc.
