How to make shatter/ and the stoner myths

first off let me say making a quality shatter was not in the least bit difficult the most difficult part was wading through all the stoner bs out there. Next I’d like to address parchment paper and the down right idiotic statements I’ve heard, parchment paper is paper that has been restructured through the use of sulfuric acid to make a non stick surface I reached out the the chemical engineers at Reynolds and ask them if butane would cause a chemical reaction with their parchment paper here is what they had to say. In the early 1980’s till early 1990’s parchment paper was impregnated with a type of silicone that would react with butane and most definitely cause dangers but today’s parchment is made a very different way using only paper that is ran through sulfuric acid then cleaned until there is no traces of acid left. So in conclusion parchment paper is safe to blast on its 100% non toxic and the only risk would be having some paper in your final product so stop listening to these old school stoners who have no idea what they are talking about with today’s technology.

Now to how I made my shatter.
I used an ablaze 90 gram closed column with an ablaze purge pot and ablaze heat pad.

Put butane cans in freezer until needed

I first ground my material to a consistency I’d use for rolling a joint
Then I put my tube together put a coffee filter in the bottom and lightly stuffed my tube then I pulled a vacuum on my tube then put it in the freezer for 30 minutes pulled it out and pulled a vacuum again

I took my tube outside picked a tip that would fit for my tube then got it into position pushed down on butane can while simultaneously opening my valve sprayed one whole can in then closed valve and got my second can and repeated the process until it wouldn’t take anymore then I let my tube sit for 30 minutes no more than thirty minutes!

When it came time to blast I lined a circular Pyrex dish with parchment and put it under my closed column extractor and slowly blasted into said dish until the column was empty slow is key! The very most important step is not agitating your product when it’s in the dish don’t even bump it or you will cause it to become unstable, you have to very carefully move your product to a dish of warm water and let the butane gas off.

When it’s completely gassed off it’s time to move it to the purge chamber while in the purge chamber pull a vacuum and set heat to 31c and let it muffin not to much as it will stick to the pan continue this process until you can pull a vacuum and leave your pump and it doesn’t muffin over.

Once you have purged it enough on both sides to were you can walk away it’s time to pull a vacuum on it with pump running for 12 hours and then flip and pull a vacuum for 12 hours this time with pump off continue this process for 100 hours and you will have a product with 0 ppm of butane it’s a very clean product if you follow my exact directions.

Why not just line the vac chamber with parchment, preheat your chamber to your purge temp, with your digital mat under the vac chamber. blast directly into that leave the top of the chamber off and when it stops agitating I'm bubbling put the top on and vac it following your directions? I don't understand the need for a water bath if you already have a digital heat pad.... Same concept

Except you would get a sticky mess all over your vac chamber and that sticky crap would muffin. And the water bath is just to speed up the butane gassing off it’s really simple.

No absolutely not, I was genuinely asking anyones advice, I ended up impatient and just did it. I'm not offended, I ended up literally just finishing. It worked perfect. Absolutely the best thing I ever did. All these runs I've done I've wasted grams scraping Pyrex. If you have a chamber, parchment, and a, digital heat pad you can give up on all that fun bullshit. No hot water bath, no scraping no loss. got the best results I've ever had and lost nothing. No no water bath none of that, here's no splatter and the best part is no mess whatsoever. I'll never blast bho any other way. Pull the pressure real slow, just past dripping and pull a nice slow stream. Be careful. Don't turn the vac on until it stops reacting. Keep the temp at 100 on the digital pad preheated and blast directly on the parchment that you lined in your chamber nicely to fit ...don't change the temp from blast to finish. Do you want shatter go lower you want butter and crumble start raising your temps up. She roll is once you put the temp in the digital pad don't change it at all don't change the temp during the whole process. Anybody reading that says blasting on the parchment is unsafe or whatever, that's complete bullshit and your repeating old info someone told you, that isn't true and hasn't been since hippie stoners were blasting hash oil with shit weed in the 80s. I called Reynolds, the company that makes parchment paper I'm using. I guess in the eighties and early nineties parchment paper was made with silicone and washed in sulfuric acid. People I talk to ask the company told me that federal law prohibits companies selling parchment paper from using silicone or any other impurities you wouldn't expect in a food grade product, since other than our beautiful nectar oil parchment paper is mostly for food I'm home to the same standards as restaurant equipment Etc. The govt requires all manufacturers of parchment paper sold in the United States to contain 0 toxins or impurities they do run the sulfuric acid wash and then test and retest it until there is zero trace or it. That's according to Reynolds themselves. The "bleach" isn't even bleach. When the paper parchment runs through sulfuric acid wash the first time it turns white due to the chemical reaction that removes the sulfuric acid. Brown parchment papers only mean that they are organically made, and therefore not using sulfuric acid wash. .... From the company itself. Anyway Im never changing this method. my butane was frozen bud wasn't. Ran nugs. Closed column pressurized system. See for yourself I'll post pics I recorded the whole thing in case I destroyed my weed I hope you aren't offended, I was genuinely asking because I couldn't understand why nobody does this, that's all. I can tell you I'll never do this any other way ever again it's incredible. Its been in vac for about an hour. Anyway I'm just trying to put this out there cuz I thought of it and ended up working flawlessly and I hope that if anybody else benefits from it and can skip doing all that bullshit we hate about bho runs, I'm about it. Man that looks amazing, ok I’m glad I didn’t offend you, I honestly think there is so much straight bs out there that it’s hard for first time bho people to know what the hell to do. I’m glad we can agree on the parchment paper lol it’s so dumb how many people got angry I was blasting on parchment!

Dude. It's unbelievable.
how much wax I've wasted doing things that I didn't need to do just because some guy read parchment is bad on one site somewhere we don't know when, that something is one way and then he posts opinions on methods he read that sound like facts but it's conjecture and heresay, no opinions saying I did this and this is how I feel. It snowballs and now creates a cult of parchment paper haters. I don't care if tree-hugging hippies think parchment paper sucks to blast into then waste time with a water bath and bust ass scraping trying not to waste anything, but man I wasted probably ozs of shatter from that stupid extra steps. If you have a, digital heat pad, set your column over the vac chamber thats been preheated to 100 underneath it. Those metal legs on the columns are like my ex's they fit around everything easy. It's easy to make a custom stand for your vac, simple if they aren't already on your column. I did it, and it's the best, easiest, cleanest method and best looking shatter I've made yet. I hope anyone can save some of their medicine this way forget hot water baths and Pyrex. It's unnecessary and it's probably how most people mess up with bho, moving it and agitating it. Invest in the digital heat pad and make bho the easy way in less than half an hour you can finish a run and have it ready to go to vac. I just did it. Here's a current pic in the vac

Can i ask why u leave the pump on?I don't understand this as i thought it shouldn't be left on?

I have been doing this all wrong by the sounds of it and as you said the amount of bs out there is a pain in the ass.. so 31C for the purge? haha i have been doing this at 85C and wondering why it never stops bubbling haha. cheers for the write up will be running some tonight but i dont have a heat mat yet so been using a water bath on a hot plate but its simply too hot..

Agreed. That right there is the standard Home concentrate makers purging equipment when using BHO. Good call man.

Do you actually leave the vac pump running that long?
Does it not overheat. I had one burn out that l lent a friend. Acquired another 1 stage 3cfm. I run for 20 mins and get to full vac. Then shut off. I try every hour I am awake to run fir 5 mins or so. But it does not lose vac that I have seen. So is it necessary to always have vac running.
Thx
Venge

Last batch I made went from beautiful looking shatter into a grey play dough. Gets ya high but does not look right :-)
