How to maintain cuttings without mothers for a perpetual garden

Hello

I am beginning what I hope to be a perpetual garden with 5-6 different strains being harvested every 10-14 days apart. Bud of the month type of set up.

I have a bloom chamber near completion with a 600 HPS and will be hand feeding through coco.

I would like to be able to replace a harvested plant with it's own cutting at time of harvest and put it right into bloom. I was thinking I could buy a daisy cloner and start a clone for each plant. After about 3 week in the daisy cloner, I would take cutting of the cutting and start it over and leave it in the cloner until it's ready for bloom.

My concerns are these: Is this even possible. I want to avoide another veg room and want to put my clones into bloom at about 8 inces as I don't want anything more than a 30 finished plant. Can you take a cutting of a young cutting to keep the genetics going.

I want to avoid another room for mother plants and I want to avoid always buying seeds and tracking down clones.

Any ideas or thoughts would rock my world. Thanks

you cant fit moms in the veg?

you can clone plants as they go into the flower room for the next crop.

Thanks rzza for the replies. I am trying to not use any more space, lights, etc. to maintain more areas. I am hoping that I can just maintain clones for 8 weeks without them getting over 8-12 inches tall at which point they can go into bloom.

Can i clone a plant that has been in bloom for a few weeks and then clone it back under 24/0 or will that stress the cutting to much?

I heard dipping the cuttings in peanut butter and other cuttings in jam... then cross breed the two and callit PBJ Kush

yea i do that sometimes but it takes them a while to root and some time to start growing (reveg). its called monster cropping. oh maybe thats something that would work for you.

you dont really need direct light for the moms. you can put one in a corner of the veg ....sorry to keep bringing up that ooption.

when you Clone Clones more than once your Effecting Quality and Potency. May be the Same plant. but its not the SAME as the ORIGINAL

Thanks again for the help.. I havn't heard of monster cropping but I guess thats what I am wanting to do. I would love to have moms but with the goal to have 5 different strains, thats a lot of moms to keep. If I can take a clone of plant in bloom and clone/veg it for 5 weeks I would be set to go. Will just have to figure out the timing for each strain.

Medical Grade...how young of a clone do you think I can clone again? I would think I need at least a few nodes to get a substantial part of the plant.

one node. two is good. three or more is too much IN MY OPINION, others may or may not think that way im not sure. i like one node per clone.

Have grown perpetual for 4 years and i love somthing new every ten days or so! the guy i learned from has had the same strain for over 20 years and no mother the tast the smell and the high is the same. this form of growing is the best way to stay within the gidelines of a medical card grow!!!! you have to stay real clean and keep a calender to stay on track with each group. each group is in diffrent spots of its life. not hard to get stoned and fuck up!!!!!!

Yea the rumor that cloning looses potency is bullshit. The only thing that can do that is disease and mutation. Those are the only two factors that can change genetic code.

I think monster cropping is worth a shot and will do what I need. Was gonna buy a daisy cloner but I decided to make something. I think I am going to put a 4 gallons rubber bin with 9 net pots in lid; fill with resevoir and use a submersible pump to create a fountain which will hopefully create enough nutes in the air. Then drop that "cloner" into a 25 gallon black tote. Inside the tote above the cuttings will be 4-6 cfl bulbs. A few small vent holes should leave the bid somewhat humid...Any thoughts?

Sup Dudes,

i just wanted to chime in on the whole cloning and degradation of quality thing. Lets not forget that cloning has dangers also. 9 times out of 1à we can clone with no problem, but be aware that even though you are taking an exact replica and nurturing it, that Clone could develop a mutation. And that is a natural mother nature thing that we simply can't predict nor avoid... With that being said. Since MJ is a pretty robust plant/weed; It would probably take some real stressing of the plant in order to provoke mutation...

Mas3372 Why don't you look into grafting a single mother plant with different branches being the particular strain that you wish. I think I saw a thread some place he once. I am working now with someone who has three strains on a base rooted Master Kush which seems to like grafts, I guess or better yet this person hasn't managed to kill the base plant and I will be trying the same when I have the space. LOL
