how to clean a tree perc? help needed!

I clean my waterpipe and parts regularly but the tree perc and splash guard is a pain in the @$$!!
I've tried soaking and resoaking it with grunge off, hot water with salt and vinegar, shaking with plain salt, ISO, vinegar -all of these doesnt quite work. Cleaning with corrosives will be the last thing i do. But before i do that nasty sh!t, are there any more ways to get rid of that sticky build up?
I wanna make it look brand spankin new again

That's exactly what I've been doing these past few days.

If everything fails, should i do this?

Iv always used rubbing alcahol and shake a lot or boil

put some rubbing alcohol in the microwave in a safe container until pretty warm like 15 sec then pour it in then shake like crazy has never let me down before. becareful tho when you shake it and the holes are covered it builds pressure so when you move your fingers it can spray

I like Randy's cleaner for my glass it has worked every time with ease and is fast and simple. I very rarely will have to dump it and re do it.

I use simple green and let it soak, for two days, then rinse, good to go, I got more than one piece so it works for me.

Seriously? Fucking draino? Dumb. ISO and salt don't work either. In labs scientists use acetone to clean their equipment. Use that and salt. Same time. I wish that bong woulda blown up in his face.

dude,sorry,but salt and alcohol work..salt doesnt dissolve in alcohol,alcohol is a degrading chemical to oils,such as thc..soak your piece in alcohol,use kosher salt,and the salt acts as an abrasive,"scrubbing" off the resin by being shaken in a chemical that loosens oils...it works perfect,even better if you clean your piece on a schedule,say every day or two...just fill the piece1/4 full of alcohol,add generous salt,cover all openings and shake..its like liquid sandpaper for stoners..and cheap!

you can add some shredded toilet paper in the salt/alcohol mix as well. It seems to help the salt scrub the nooks and crevices.

I have a few pieces that the salt and alcohol wouldn't get clean. I scored a bottle of cleaner at the Kush Expo for free and tried it. It worked very well, cleaned EVERYTHING. I soaked for a couple of days and pretty much everything rinsed off. What didn't finally came of with alcohol and salt. It was called kush clean. I only used the one bottle because cleaners like that are expensive. But hey, maybe it will work for you.

No, I don't work for the company. And I would only buys somethign like that once in a great while. Normally I use ISO and salt. I am planning on trying acetone soon. I hear it works better than ISO.

alcohol works better if you get off your.
stoned ass once a week and clean it for 5 min..i used to wait till my pipes/bongs werent hitting well,then clean them..took forever..now i jus make it a point on sundays after the kids are asleep to rinse it w iso and kosher salt.sometimes ill get froggy and clean it everyother day,but that gets costly..usualy sundays,or when i get a fressh harvest

chef c remindind me of a friend who used acetone and salt..i guess it works as well,i prefer iso and non exploding bongs..

This is what i use to clean my pipes, expecially the ones with tree percs, it's called Resinate.

Picked it up at my localhead shop a coupleyears ago still have some left...you don't need alot to get the job done, just shake the bottle, pour some in and shake your piece. Then rinse with hot water and that should do the trick.
