Dude your friend shares the responsibility of the accident he took part in an action that caused the death of another.
He may be able to lawyer up and skin by but he still shares the responsibility.
I got out of the service when I was 27 was at a party and a childhood friend was very drunk and wanted a ride on my bike. I was drunk and new it put her off most of the night but the drunker I got the more I started to think with my other head. So I agreed and off we went, the worst decision I have ever made.
The accident was not my fault but the decision to let her climb on with me WAS. She died in my arms that night. It is MY FAULT that she is dead and I DO Live with this every day. I served 7 out of 11 year sentence for vehicular manslaughter, have I paid my debt to society? The law says I have my heart tells me another story.
I fell no sympathy for your friend. He knew it was a bad accident and left to protect his own ass!!!
