How much to tip the MMJ delivery driver?

I work minimum wage, i get by, if i don't have enough hours to pay me the money i need, i take on some hours at another job. It's called minimum wage for a reason, if it's not living up to it's reasoning then get off your arses and do something about it. It has nothing about compassion, as i've said, i'll happily tip someone if they deserve it, but 95% do not, they have done nothing but their job and generally not in a charming manner. Why in hell would i give them a tip ontop of their pay. I always refuse tips at one of my jobs as wtf have i done to deserve it, i did exactly as i'm paid to do inn the first place, there is no justification, or shold they tip me on the assumption that i've not got my life in check because i'm working in that job?

Don't even get me started on the people getting pissy and retaliatory because someone didn't tip them, Nobody is under ANY obligation to give you a penny, people should be happy if they get a single tip in a day, it's more than they are entitled to.

Oh, not to mention a delivery driver is most likely not someone working a 40 hour week, if his few hours an evening aren't getting him by, ummm, i wonder why, full time employment exists for a reason.

Let's agree to disagree bro....you have your perspective and I have mine. It all comes full circle...Show love, get love back.

What does a pizza driver have to do to get your "above and beyond tip" ? Spin the box like a harlem globe trotter while he's moon walking backwards ?....

Dude you remind me of the "Soup Nazi" on Seinfeld.. "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

Im chillen at home on the couch playing COD, doorbell rings, and its weed!! To my doorstep!! While im in my taruntarums and by left hairy ball in hangin out one side..... (sorry Joe, won't happen again) TIP!!!

If a hot hooker brings me snatch, im probably tippen! It's her job! still tippen! What would above and beyond be here...An enema or a fist?

If I go to your house and have to literally make my way through your nasty ass crudy underwear to lay out my product! TIPPPPP!!! (HAZARD PAY) nasty ass woman...WOW

It's called a GRATUITY, meaning gratitude. Are you grateful you got weed delivered to you or not?
@Tip Top: Who would want your fricken money anyway? Your favorite restaurant is probably serving you more than food. You know, a little something special just for you. LOL.

It is simple business, he is being paid for what he is doing, he's not doing you a favour or anything, he's not going out of his way, that is his job, to deliover it to you. If he happens to have to vault a gate because the latch was broken, yeah, maybe i'd tip him, same for wading through dirty clothes, but they wouldn't have to, i'd walk to the door and pick it up as i would a package from the courrier. Do you tip the cashiers in supermarkets if there are self checkout tills available? It is all simply business.

And no, my resteraunts serve me exactly as i order, i live in a respectable area, people know that they have no right to a tip, we know what we were getting when we applied for the job. I have to pity the mentality of a person that would get that angry as to spit or worse in food, you'd have to be fucked in the head to think it was justified

Short story is i am not going to pay soneone for doing their job, that's his bosses responsibility, not mine and yours, and if you've been duped into thinking it is your responsibility, to pay his wages, then lol, played like a fool!

Please come up with a better analogy than that. Totally not the same thing.

I have to pity the mentality of a person that would get that angry as to spit or worse in food, you'd have to be fucked in the head to think it was justified

News flash: There are many fucked up people in this world who think just that way unfortunately.

Short story is i am not going to pay soneone for doing their job, that's his bosses responsibility, not mine and yours, and if you've been duped into thinking it is your responsibility, to pay his wages, then lol, played like a fool!
Well I look at it as a reward for good service. If they start expecting it, especially when they suck, then yea no tip.

ive never used a delivery service but i always try to tip the budtenders when i go to my local club. they're good people and they deserve it. Hell on my last visit i gave them the last dollar in my wallet. this should go the same for someone thats made the effort to bring bud to you, tell you about it, and as long as their friendly and professional you'll get a decent the tip. now if you're douche, don't expect more than a dollar, hell why i tip you in the first place if you're acting like that? I usually try to put 5 bucks in the tip jar every time i go to the dispensary.

this made me lol

if your over 20 years old, im VERY sure your food has been spit in before. its a LOT more common than u think.... and it happens everywhere, including your "respectable area"

even though the tip usually comes after a meal, im sure youve done something to piss off a waitress at least once.

to me, its a sign of respect. it shows them that i noticed theyre workin hard for their money, and i appreciate what they did for me(the tip, not the spit lol)

Ya know what would also be a good tip if you didn't have nay extra cash, have a nice little IBR (individual bong rip) packed up and ready for them, tell them to step inside real quick and take a rip! =D

There is a delivery service near me I want to try. I'm curious what everyone thinks is a reasonable / average tip vs. good tip? I wouldn't expect truly sick people to tip any more than they could afford. However I just use MMJ for insomnia and I've got a good job, and just like the pizza delivery person these folks use their own vehicles and work hard and deserve to be able to eat and pay rent like everyone else. I want to make sure I give the driver a good tip. Problem is I have no clue what that might be. What does everyone else think would be appropriate for 1/8, 1oz etc? Any MMJ delivery drivers reading this board feel free to chime in. I want to be sure I take care of you appropriately.
wer r u man?
poster are'nt there after post a confusing thread...
your caring of the thread is a little bit sick.
i dont think you can care of a human. :(

It's commonly understood that servers live on their tips. They are taxed on their sales because the government assumes that each customer leaves a tip proportionate to the bill. They pay tax on your tip, whether you leave it or not. You don't tip, you cost your server money.

Is this right? No, it's fucked up, but it's just how it things are, and everybody understands that. It sounds to me like you are just trying to rationalize being a cheap asshole.

That's his job :D If he doesn't like going through traffic and such, that is to say making deliveries, maybe he shouldn't have taken the job :D If i'm an asshole you must be a retard? You're the citizens of the conutry, why the fuck have you not gotten off your arses and changed things, but instead you seem happier to simply pay the companies pay roll. I figured you'd all be fed up as it was with paying all the fat politicians so they can sail their yachts, also paid for by you, and yet no, you're actually happy to sit back and pay for the rest of the people as well

Where i live, people live off their wage, if they couldn't, they would negotiate a different wage or find a different job, or many jobs. To start with i couldn't really care much about the arguments about delivery guys not makig enough to live, are you hoenstly saying they work 8 hours a day 5 days a week? One of my jobs has me around 15 hours a week maximum, so i don't get pissy about tips, i get a job alongside that, and when i was really in trouble, i got a third job ontop of that.

When i tip, which i do, i do it out of generosity because of the manner in which i've been assisted, not because i'm being guilt tripped into doing it  but yes, i'm an asshole for tipping out of generosity and kindness, and not guilt.

shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttt...... the tip is already included in the over inflated $$$ the despensary charges!!!! :)

shit $15 a g or 50 a 1/8 for something that cost 1/2 of that to the store..... if not less.

Tip Tip???? The delivery driver usually gets a base pay..... plus reimbursement of the gas too .....depending on the miles traveled.

Some despensaries provide the car full of gas on a daily basis......Car insurance is a requirement for anyone who drives in any car

You start giving tips or they make it a requirement.... soon the Government will tax their tips... just like everyone else who makes tips has to report them for taxes

It all really depends in my opinion, we already seem to have a good guidline on HOW MUCH to give but not why, id like to say from personal knowledge of my local clubs and deliverys that unless it is the owner of the place doing the delivery then most likely its someone earning minimum wage, in a business that is already grossly understaffed due to cost reductions(because in theory all these places are NON-profit although that is somewhat BS) alongside having to serve customers inside the store. now heres the thing, NO you are not obligated to tip them, and alot of them may not even deserve it but think about if YOU were driving that car full of weed that wasn't yours to smoke all day long without being allowed to smoke even your own supply due to professional and safety standards im sure your day would be brightened if somebody chipped you a few bucks for coming by, have some compassion and don't become jaded just because of your on personal thoughts on pay and work ethic.

I have never used one of these services before. but i feel if you tip any amount the driver will remember you for next time and take better care of you. same goes for a bar, you drink a few drinks and leave a nice tip they will always take care of you better in the future. anyone who has worked in any kind of food service that you gain 90% of your income from tips would understand why people do tip and the reasons behind it. If you want to be cheap and cry about the price of a gram - Oz then grow your own and stop buying from them seems pretty simple to me.

I agree. I make a living right now delivering pizzas and I live off the tips. I get paid just the tips plus $10 to use as a bank for change. The fact is that many people are living off of tips and they would rather not but it is all they can find. I just graduated college and am trying to get into a good law school or grad school. I been trying to find a better job but this is all I got. I been saving money while I can but the fact is that not many people are hiring.

People like Tip Top are assholes. They don't realize that people do work hard to serve them. The delivery driver risks accidents, robbery, and being busted by the feds (at least the MMJ one does) so that he can get high. Gas and insurance as well as damage to the car can destroy them. If I lose my car, I am unemployed. It sucks but that is how it is for many delivery drivers. I have a few friends who are delivering pizzas as a means to survive (in Chicagoland there are many pizzzas places but no weed delivery). I also have quite a few friends who are waitressing and going back to school because there are no jobs. A friends mother worked her way through school as a waitress and she lived off the tips.

So please tip your drivers well. And treat them with a little respect and courtesy. I know that with a few customers who are cool, I might have an extra coupon for them or hurry to their house. With waitresses and waiters they can spit in your food or do all sorts of other nasty ass shit to it. They can make sure you don't get refills or make sure they charge you for those little extras that normally get overlooked. If you regularly go into a place or use a delivery service and don't tip well or at all, the staff remembers. I know I do.

So in essence please tip well.
Typical Attorney/Lawyer answer. Already enough of that kind bending "regular" people over the barrel.
Stuff yer education where the sun don't hit it and drive a frickin cab ya crybaby.

how the fuck can a "driver" give you extra weight. Is he driving around with a qp of every strain and weighing it out in front of you?

No.
He's bringing a pre-weighed and sealed package to you. Of overpriced "pharmacy schwag". Dispensaries are not in this "business" for
compassionate reasons. It's all about the greenback. Do the math for fucks sake. Dispensaries are not in it to make 40% or 60% profit.

More to the tune of triple digit profits.
