Doe it matter how old it Is?, Not Really? I have only just joined a few months ago, so what's the problem? If I was here 4 years ago I would have commented back then..... So Please Go troll else where, with inefficient and unsupported answers like that. Great job. That was very helpful.

Also... if I had created another thread asking the exact same thing you would be quick enough to bring up the "Search Previous Threads" area for making a duplicate post. So which one you want? Either way I'm sure your sarcasticness will have an answer for each. :/ How about you keep useless comments to yourself and let those who are actually willing to help, HELP. THANK YOU.

Its not trolling its a friendly reminder that to fit in with the rest of us try posting how we do and not jump on a question asked four years ago, please remember that it was others that made this site great and we all need to respect not bust in here trying to make everything suit your own personal opinion.

What you mean suit my own personal opinion where are you plucking this bullshit from? I simply asked a question to the guy who said.he had a 260w side lighting with cfl. Then this random guy who the question was NOT directed at, gave a non reasonable response and came on here bashing me for replying to a 4 year old thread. What is wrong with me asking those guys previously to me with experience how they got their setup and how it worked out for them. That is the point of these forums ain't it, to find and get advice? Well I asked how he got it, would you rather I just repeat a thread over and over again year after year because I was to. Lazy to search for it..... I think NOT. So please, again keep those unsolicited comments of rubbish to yourself. I was asking about a bulb from beast, none of you that posted up crap, I have no personal opinion or gender I simply asked about a bulb a guy had, which I didn't know even existed. Hence my question. Instead of asking on a new thread with a 4 year old question. Jeez you guys are making these forums rubbish with unpresented crap. I simply asked if he had a 260w cfl and where from because I wanted one and I couldn't find one anywhere. So I was going to use 2 either side of the plant. Adding up.to 520w each side.

So the reason I jumped on a 4 year old thread was to get an answer for something which didn't sallicitate a new thread when one was already open.

No but that wasn't my question. I simply asked did he have a single 260w bulb because that was exactly what I had been looking for.myself online but seeing as this was my first grow, I couldn't find one online so I searched the threads. Then he came on ranting about visiting an old thread.... well what if 50 new people to growing like myself all made 50 new posts? With the same topic... there will always be someone who says why not search the threads to find your answers. That's what I did. Not my fault I wasn't around 4 years ago on this forum to.ask him then or I would have. :/

I’m on my first grow and started with an inexpensive 1000w led bank and 3 65w CFL 6500k bulbs, however I’ve since added 2 105w CFL at 5000k which from what I’ve found are the largest you can get without going to a mogel lamp base.

I ordered them off 1000bulbs.com

Hope this helps.

As the 4 years passed by, these are now considered a much better replacement compared to cfl, literally 2x better for the same wattage.

true, hard to run if you don't have a hood........excellent side lighting though...
They did better than i thought, would be a waste with just one plant but in the middle of 2 or 3 plants hung vertically seemed to work out nicely.

Agreed, its a nice addition for extra/side light or adding another spectrum with small red heavy grows but no matter which way you look, those corn cobs are way stronger than cfls.

they are, especially with the advent of cfls going out of style cause of the led bulb reseurgence.

when i started to flip from cfl to led for me it was just a test, but the led did so good, i just kept working with them.....now i have a mixture of led bulbs from 3k color to 5k color.....5k for the veg, then when flowering flip the 3k on and here we go......the last grow i did, is what surprised me.....think i'll continue with the combination this season...

Do you really think that guy is going to think to check RIU for an answer to a question he asked 4 years ago?

Think about it.

Steer away from CFLs - they are the least efficient of all grow lights. Stick with HID or LED.
