How much do you yield under a 400 hps

You would or could probably get as much off of two plants as 4 plants in a 4' X 4' area. There is only so much light and so much area there. If you grow your plants big, the lower buds won't form, if you keep them smaller, you get less bud. You only have so much area to grow your plants. In a 4/ X 4' area, once you have the area filled with plant, the crops could be similar in size. You just can't force more plant in an area even if you plant 10 plants or 1 plant. If done right, you can fill that area up with however many plants you want to grow.

I never call bullshit on anything I do not personally know. I may have my doubts on some things that are said, but often, I learn something and it isn't always that the person is full of it. I have been proven wrong to many times because of my own ignorance and by not listening to someone who knew something I did not.

So, once again I ask, how did you grow 3 lbs in a 4' X 4' area, jimmy44, and did you grow your 170 grams in a 4' X 4' area? What did you use to get your fantastic yielding plants to yield like that?

Thank you both in advance. School is open, for me at least.

3x3 area for me bro and i pull 8-10 oz every3 months
i use the lst method and grow 2 plants i veg for 2 months in a seperate room while flowering 2 others. to grow 3 pounds you would have to veg for a long long time or grow a shitload of little plants, i didnt read the link though it seemed like a link to a link or sum dumb bullshit. but 170 grams thats only just over 6 0z.
its really not that hard to do.

OH BTW Terry_Tokabolla, I AM GOING TO USE A HOMEBOX XL, (4 X 4 ). TO ACHEIVE WHAT WE DISCUSSED ABOVE HOW MANY PLANTS MAX DO YOU RECCOMMEND I PUT IN THERE...I SEE THAT U SAID UR USING A 430HPS..WELL I PLAN ON USING 600HPS...SOULD IT BE THE SAME AMOUNT OF PLANTS U R USING UNDER THAT 430HPS?? (JUS NEED A LIL CLEARIFICATION)
(Doesn't matter what size light you use in the 4 x 4 room. I say - start with 5 or 6 seeds - of that you should get 3 to 4 female plants)

3 plants is comfortable - 4 plants max in the room by the end at the size plant grown with this method. (if your triggering flowering at 18 to 22 inches - about a 2 month veg period with these indica strains (add a week or two for the sprouting stage) though its worth it for the healthy plant.
Plants where you don't just get one nice top cola of budd, but several great tops MmmMmm medicine. (ya, there is definitely a larger top cola - but the ancillary tops are very nice too.

I see the plants in peoples pics where they get as many plants in there as they can fit. They are thin. The way i do it, the stems are finger thick when harvested.
A great root system gives great buds. The large pots and promix is great for a healthy root system.
I do rotate the plants every couple days so they get light evenly throughout their growing period.

By the last month, its difficult to rotate 4 plants having to be careful not to bang/bruise the flowers. I have to take them out of the room and re-place them carefully. Can't just twist them around cause they take up 2' x 2' area each easilly.

Good Luck! - keep your materials clean and handle everything gently and you can't fail.

PS, wtf is a HOMEBOX XL

thanks again for the useful info....will use that method for those indica strains u mentioned...will go with 4 plants in 3 or 4gal square pots or bags,(NEED THOS BIG AZZ ROOTS)....4oz dry per plant is a must for me to even consider a non-auto strain...any other stains u know of/tried gotten 4oz dry per...? and the homebox xl is a portable grow room...47.5" x 47.5" x 78.5"(non-toxic) SHOULD I LST EM?? OR LOLLIPOP EM'?<<[THAT WOULD BE FOR A SOG METHOD, IN 2GAL POTS/BAGS..MY GOAL PER HARVEST IS 2LBS..WHATTA U THINK??:fire::leaf::leaf:

seems a few of you need to brush up on measurements or only post when you're not high, or so high.

30g = 1 oz, 16 oz = 1 pound
1000g = 1 kg
1 pound = .49 kg

Yea man your measurements are definitely off. You might need to brush up on your measurements when YOUR not high.

Hmm.. I can't seem to edit my above post. (Post #84 of this thread)

Correction to post #84:

I checked my journal. Lighting switched around 11" to 13" plant height.

More importantly would be to say that lighting was switched to 12/12 when all had about 10 to 12 internodes.

The shiskaberry did well to topping and the NL did not seem to be greatly affected by topping.

No need to LST if you have good side and under lighting.

Just LST to keep height in check or if your gardener's eye says "that branch is not where I want it to be".

PS. your goal of 2lbs may call for a 1000watt

6plants and 3lbs isnt too hard to believe. My bud has grown 1 plant under a 430w and yeilded a pound. But he has the pics to proove it, where are yours?

Here is a picture of my progress, next time I will go for about nine plants in this space, I will definately see a reduced yield because of my over-crowding.
Nutrients are Blood Meal, Bone meal, Peat Moss with Vermiculite, Topsoil, and Compost.
