How much do you think I can yield dry with my setup. (First time Grower)

Would 400 Grams dry/smokeable per plant be an asanine amount to hope for?

Hello I'm a first time Grower, Poster, and straight up noob.
I'm looking to get insight on how much you guys think I could grow with my setup.
Here are my specifications.
If prediction is hard give me a ball park estimate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tent: 4ftx4ftx5.7ft or 91 Cubic Feet/2.5 Cubic Meters
Light: 400watt HPS
6 plant Hydro system
Basic Carbon filter for ventilation
Yeast Based Co2 Generator
20-20-20 as the water based nutrient
Mister
Ability to tend the plant periodically throughout the day
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The plants in speculation
3 Northern Lights
2 Gorilla Glue #4
1 Chem 94
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All links, insight, and recommendations are welcome please inform me.
Smug sarcasm Is also welcome as long as it's informative.
I'm thinking that 6 plants in a 4x4 may be a little tight once they really take off...someone with more experience may be able to jump in here.
I would stick to easy growing strains like Northern Lights...great for beginners. The Gorilla Glue is a Sativa and it could be more challenging to grow (longer flower period, possibly grows taller than the rest so it will require more training to maintain a good canopy).
Just my 2 cents....hopefully more input from others to follow.
What type of hydro? If you don't have a ph meter, you'll need one in hydro.
As a measuring stick it's said good growers yield a gram per watt.
What would you guys recommend for better growth. I have 200$left on my budget I can add another 400w light if it would make a big difference overall or anything within that price range.
I would invest in more lighting too. You're at 25 watts per square foot which is low. Here is a general guideline.
Watts per square foot (wattage per sq ft WILL vary by light source):
Minimum wattage per sq ft.: 30w
Mid Range
wattage per sq ft.: 50w
Optimal Range
wattage per sq ft.: 50-80w
Very helpful input.
So i can dump 120 into a 600 watt HPS for a total of 1000 watts
or 120 into an 800w led for a total of 1200 watts.
The question is do LED's even compare to HPS.
Probably, but you are not going to get 600w HPS equivalent, LED for $120. You do have to think about heat though doubling your wattage.
Going Back to what you've said here would i be better off downsizing from 6 plants to four and only growing gorilla glue.
What will give a better yield 6 plants with the potential for say two being choked from light 3 indica 1 sativa. Or make the first grow based on 4 GG#4's and grow 4 sativas. What would give a better yield in your opinion? Also if there's a rep function i'd like to up it because your information on lighting alone has me stunned at this plant light to growth potential.
if I was you yes if you can complete one then move on hydro for a new grower is hard one mistake and you can kill every thing in less then 8 hours if you were in soil I would say yes go for it. soil is forgiven not like hydro and still new growers kill them a lot of the time just trying save you from buying more seeds so soon I hope you can prove me wrong though good luck
I agree with bseeds. I'd focus less on yield for your first grow and more on just doing everything correctly. You're taking on a lot with your first grow with doing hydro and you will learn a lot. 4 plants can quickly overtake your space, and growing a sativa in a relatively short tent will likely require more plant training. You can use topping and LST (Low stress training) to keep your plant height down. Check out Uncle Bens Topping technique in the Advance section....will help you manage your height restrictions and improve your yield with one well placed snip.
If it was me, I'd keep it as simple as possible for your first grow. I'd start with feminized seeds like your northern lights (easy strain to grow), get more light in that tent, and let those 4 plants fill the space with some plant training.
This may help too. Always good information on this site.
I think you should get a 600w hps and grow 4 big plants that will give you 3-5oz each or 9 plants that will yield 1-3 oz each
Use the 400w in a 2x2 or 3x3 veg room
