How much do you think you could get on a hydro system with a 400w hps in a 3x5 room, with fans exhaust temp control, you know, perfect conditions, what would your best guess be as to what you could yield.

you should be about to get much more that that. My room is 3.5ft by 1.8ft by about 7ft I can put six plants in there and would expect nothing short of two oz per plant, I do veg them for at least a month no more than about 6 weeks.
