How much bud do you get from a good average plant?

That is respectable but he has to keep in mind that yield will vary, and can vary greatly, according to strain alone even before all the variable are factored in.

I am guessing that you grow indica or crosses that have at least a fairly high percentage of indica in them. I on the other hand have always been a sativa lover and they will yield less unless you have the height and the lighting to grow sequoia sized plants indoors or can grow outdoors and have a long growing season.

The be patient part is always good advice to give a noob. Like I always say Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was Syracuse.

The part about the potting soil having enough nutrients for roughly 30 days I hope was not referring to potting soil with slow release fertilizer in it because that is horrible to use. As for initial feeding beans will have roughly 2 to 3 weeks of nutrients in them for a seedling to survive off. Not long after that feeding is needed but only with a reduced proportion, as in a one quarter or a one third feeding depending on the strain. Some are heavy feeders and will eat it up and others are not and they will burn and or die. But I am sure you already know all of that.
Your right brick top, I do grow crosses, would love to grow sativas just don't have the room or light power. I shouldn't have lumped all potting soils in there with the 30 day remark, that's just my experience with ocean forest, and a couple other less popular brands I've tried.

my only grow was lowryder ak47 and i got like 1/16th of an ounce. That was the only seed from the pack that grew too. So $100 USD for 1/16th + my time + electricity ... it sucked.

i have finished only two aurora indica. i have got two ounces a piece, but that was with 3 gal pots, and no special trimming. i also am making a few changes. adding some granular foxfarm nutes (bloom), to the bottom third of the now 5 gal pots. also, foliar feeding, and lifting leaves. if they cover a bud site, they get cut. selective pruning. now, as mitt said, if we could selectively prune say 47% .......wedd be back in buisness, in no time. lol. truth. but i think the aurora, is a nice plant. may not be huge producing, but try a bigger pot! etc. its worth it! its so potent.

2~3ozs is good for a first timer in dirt. it all depends on how long you veg, longer veg = larger yield. Just remember that you need bigger lights for bigger plants. DWC plants can give you massive yields from massive plants and SOG makes the most of your light potential. good luck, have fun, and stay safe :)

I average 2oz per plant vegging for 3/4 weeks using 600W air cooled HPS with 6/7 plants in a 120x120x200 tent.

This grow I have tried super long veg (14 weeks) and training, and will be doing similar from now on (maybe 10 weeks though rather than 14). I will grow less plants but am expecting to up my average per plant to around 4oz (possibly (hopefully) a little more for the 14 week veg girls).

And a genuine spit my tea out laugh at hamsterman's initial comment - nice one. lol

4 lbs with a 60 watt fucking ell.

me thinks I can smell a rat
Nope. It's a joke. Definitely a joke (and I'm sat here currently smelling rat). LMFAO

Yeah that guy is definitely blowing smoke... There is no way you can get 4lbs from 2 plants under a 60w incandescent bulb.
LOL - If he had said he averaged an oz per plant would you guys have given him the benefit of the doubt?

Ha ha - too funny.

I averaged about three quarters to a pound and a half growing outdoors, took all season. This is my first year indoors and on a plant I get about 2 1/2 to 3 ounces a plant so far and looking to increase yield. As was said earlier; this is an impossible question to answer.

Are white socks better? Christmas lights give you full spectrum. 2-4 oz a plant to start.

Use white tube socks in veg room and black dress socks for your flower room. I also use the socks as condoms for males so they can't get my girls pregnant

umm

cant be answered as a projection for someone as you would need the exact grow set up

a plant vegged for 4 weeks makes a % of a plant grown for 10 both before flower , some plants make sod all yield where others are massive producers

so in answer and its about the best i can say 3 weeks veg creates for me with multi lights 4 oz a plant using uk cheese , i use 8 trays and fit 3 plants in each so 4 lights means 100 oz or 3 kilo or 6 pounds , this can be done every 10 weeks if you have a veg room to maintain others in

well i averagly get 4 lbs from 2 plants grown under a 60w incandesant bulb, my grow room is surrounded in unwashed socks for reflectivity.
How is this possible?
Must be a really good strain you're growing or you must have a Midas touch of sorts that gives the weed plant super energy to produce more buds for you.
I need to learn your magic touch. :)
