How many plants should I keep going to be able to smoke a half ounce a week

I'm not making any false claims. Give me any auto seeds beside the dwarf or lowryder strains and I will grow it out to 30-36 inches.

Once again, I'm not claiming autos to be better for yield. They are on par with photos with potency with the exception of elite cuts.

Its all about preference. Once again the op wants to grow autos and I will help the op get the most out of them.

In the early days of autos they were all over the place. I'm sure if I dig back a couple year in my post I would find post of me saying they are a roll of the dice. At that time they were either really good or really bad. The last couple years autos have gotten a lot better, more stable.

When autos were created it was hard to breed the auto flower gene and keep stability. It took inbreeding them to make them stable. IBL lines can be very stable. It is common practice with any breeder trying to lock a certain trait.

The more autos have been worked the better they have gotten and the better they will get.

It makes a difference on what breeder they come from.

In order, the breeder I like are; mephisto, Buddha (not big Buddha) and dinafem. There are some other good auto breeders that slip my mind at the moment.

I've been pleased with the Auto's from Nirvana but I'm going to try Mephisto or Dinafem next... :weed:

I'm in the same position as you. I smoke roughly an ounce a month. I only have enough space for 2 plants. I'm using 2 gal buckets and coco, with a 250 watt hps. My goal is 2 ounces per plant. I pant one seed and planted my other seed 2 weeks later when my older plant gets a week or 2 out I'm going to start another. The beans that I had left over were a NL auto and a BB auto. I will be going with mephisto and fast buds for my next beans to replace the BB.
I have a grow on here if you want to check it out to get an idea.

well, I haven't read peoples responses, but in response to the original question of your thread there is alot of variables to that question, all things dependent on your setup, strains, lighting, and so forth, I'm sure alot of that has been addressed but, if you are growing autos and want to keep a habit of a 1/2 zip a week my suggestion would be to start 1 plant every 2-3 weeks and keep enough room in your grow area for 4-6 plants, depending on flowering times, autos generally take around 70-110 days to complete so you could end up with up to 9 plants, on average I find average autos produce around a ounce to 2, so once things get rolling you should grow enough to supply your habit lol

Ok, let's getcha in the ballpark...
Autos average 1-4oz so for your first grow let's say 2oz average. Autos take about 9 weeks so if you plant 4 plants you will get 8oz in 9 weeks. In 9 weeks you will smoke 4.5oz so after your first grow plant another 4 plants and then after that grow repeat the process until you can take a few weeks off before planting again.
