I have a few special queens that just sprouted a few days ago. How much light is best at this stage? I've had them on 24 hour a day light thusfar. Is this best or no?

18/6 is fine for sprouts or 24 is fine as well i personally dont like doing 24 hour lights on because i like my plants to have some dark time to do what plants do when its dark out in nature.

i disagree with a 24 hour light schedule. i've tried both 24 and 18/6 and 16/8. I find they do better with a night period. and its cheaper on your pocket too. I currently keep my mom room on a 16/8 schedule. but I watched them closely to make sure they can handle that. I've heard some strains will start to flower at different times give or take a few hours from the 12/12 standard.

No argument there. I run 18/6 or 20/4 for veg depending on the outside temps. Not sure why my seedlings get 24/0. Lazy and haven't gotten around to setting up a timer?

no one can see doing 16/8?
I could see it for mothers like you do but idk i feel that 18/6 is perfect. optimium light but theres a brief dark period, plus 16/8 is rlly close to 14/10 and a power outage would potientially fuck up my plant, especially if it lasted several hours.

fuck either complicat or simplify. it doesnt matter 24-16 hours light is fine for veg, and seedlings. fuck i do 24 hours, but i run 4 bulb 24 hours on and turn on 2 bulbs for 12 hours of that each day :)

Don't leave them under 24 hour light throughout the entire veg time until I flower?
Do you work 24/7? Well hell no you don't so why would you make your babies do it! I think the best is 18 ON 6 OFF it can vary a little but 24/7 stresses them.

have substitute lighting on instead of the HID for the full light cycle is a great idea for a way to save money. I'm sure the plants won't notice that much anyways. I mean hell the light isn't that intense in the morning and evening naturally anyways.

Great advice. What I have been doing is leaving them under the light in the evening and then just giving them natural sun all day. I have everything set up outside on my balcony, so at night I just slide them to the other side of the balcony where I have my lights and turn them on.

i tried 16/8 18/6 20/4 and 24/0 and imho its very strain dependant what plants actually prefer. overall tho i like 24/0 better. Cannabis is a C3 plant btw so they dont need this "sleep" or whatever the hell people call it.. also i like 24/0 for less stetch. another plus with 24/0 is that it will be harder for fungus / mildew / mold to affect your plants. when i was noob i got some cind of leaf fungus disease that spread like the wind and killed of several of my mothers and about 70% of my veg area. i tried everything but in the end the only thing that actually helped was putting the lights on 24/0.. also cuttings react best to 24/0 imo.
