How long to go lights out before harvest?or not?

Hey guys n gals have heard many benefits of going lights out before harvest higher resin production, less chlorophyll in the buds them selves, with a cleaner burn and better taste, but I have also heard it puts unwanted stress on the plant and can cause unwanated issues like mold and fungus to have a better chance at starting and continues in to drying/curing. My question comes Into play here I have just got done my final flush yesterday I was wondering if I go lights out tonight and start the dark period will my pots and roots would be more prone to mold due to being so saturated from flushing. Should I wait 2 days or so for my medium ( coco/perlite )has dried out some more and then got into a dark period? Also about how long should I go out for and when I go to harvest what are the negative affects to the plant with the up take of water since the pant has been in complete darkness for days?
This is that first day after final flush I was going to let the plant dry out anyway before I harvested anyway to get the most water out evaporated out and used up anyway I'm getting pumped a few days out from chop by the way this is my first seed to harvest on my own all canna nutes 2 plant scrog method about 40 tops (first time don't knock) any questions and comments are welcome just no rants pls(here are some pics from today)

I stop watering a day or 2 before I want to chop and give a single 24 hour period of no light before I harvest. I have a perpetual so my bloom room is always rockin; I just pull the plant out of there the day before. It doesn't make that much if a difference; not really a game changer but I think it's good to allow the trichomes a bit more dark to develop without the light going on. Kind of like simulating a harvest at first light before the noon sun gets overhead. Plus you don't have to wait until the lights come on you can harvest when you feel like it. Some peeps give 2 or 3 days dark but I've tried it and don't see the point. It just wilts the plant from lack of water.
It is even more effective IMO to kind of lay back on watering the final weeks to stress the plant slightly. Desert conditions increase trich production. You don't want wilting plants either just give them barely enough water to keep them happy until chop chop.

When theyre done enough for me i just turn off the lights and i get to em when i get to em... usually with 48 hours... but not always...

With the lights out the trichs dont take any damage or minimal anyway.

I harvest by taking the big stuff off then let the plants keep going for a while to fatten up lower buds and take the rest a week or more later. With my arthritis trimming is a slow, painful and hateful process. Getting a g'damned trimmer before my next harvest or hire some students.

I just leave the light on 12/12 and hack away until the plants are gone. I also do all my trimming fresh taking just enough each time to last an hour so the leaves stay all plumped up and easier to snip. 3 - 5 weeks slow drying then into jars for another month of burping. Smooth as silk.

A long dark period before chopping makes such a minimal difference it doesn't matter much I don't think. Chopping under a full moon will double the THC levels tho.

In plenty of tries. I have found NO benefit to extended dark periods before harvesting.
Label that a myth.....

So just how do you get your plant to finish in that "about" 3 day window of a full moon?

You grab it by the short hairs and tell it it's done!
