I grew these 2 ladies out using tap water that I didn't PH. That's 1 auto NL and 1 auto PE grown under CFLs with MG soil, MG perlite and MG nutes. I only ended up with about 4oz dry. Could I have gotten better results if I PH'd the water. I'm currently on my second grow, about 3 weeks from harvest. Maybe if I start PH'ing it'll help. Any thoughts?

You may have gotten a couple more grams if you had the perfect ph all the time but you have to make the call for yourself. Try a side by side and see if it makes a difference next grow.

yeah i just add 1 cup of dolomite lime per cubic feet of soil when mixing it up and i topdress 3-5 tbs of lime per gallon on top after about 7 or 8 weeks depending on pot size it may be overkill but the plants seem to get by fine. i stopped phing about 6 months ago or so also just started using jack's classic duo and cal/mag alot easier to do too.

Oh and mrblu, ya gotta watch those blue dreams, they dont put on the weight like some. Most people including myself who grow it indoor arent super thrilled about the weight. The smokes great though.

Ya, if your nutes are ph balanced why not. Jacks is good for that.

if i use straight water from the faucet is it really that bad for my plants in soil??
My tap water is 7.8pH and 275ppm and I never pH anything, feedings or just plain watering. I do add EWC and dolomite to my mix prior to beginning the grow. They take care of the pH for me. You can pH adjust your water in soil all you want. But within a 1/2 hour of pouring on your plants it will buffer to the mediums pH anyway. And most Ph up's contain alot of carbonates which can build up in the medium and actually do more harm than good.

To be honest, I was being a little sarcastic. Sorry guys.

I was very pleased with pulling nearly 4 zips from those 2 gals, especially since they are autos, grown in a cupboard, under CFL with cheap MG products and especially since it was my very first grow. I have neither the experience or knowledge to say whether someone should PH their soil grown plants, but personally, I'm not going to fool with it unless something drastically goes wrong with my plants and I've eliminated everything else. All I do is fill a gallon milk jug with water from my tap and set it aside in the corner of my kitchen for a day before adding it to my plants.
