How I Clone

Many different methods to cloning, here is how I do it:

These babies might be a little early, but I know they will be fine and grow another 2-3" before they find a new home.

So First picture is them on the mother, she is in 24/7 and I will move her soon. I also take clones from plants in 18/6 with the same results.

Second picture is of the tools needed to perform this operation...
Third is the measuring glass with 1 drop of Botanicare Power clone gel in it and a bit of water. Don't forget to poke the rockwool a bit with a pencil or sissors.

So clean your surface unlike me, lol.. I will then shave them down and slice little cuts around the exposed stem. I find this to be a crucial step..

Put a drop of clone gel on them and in the wet rockwool they go. see Pictures six and seven.

Then they go in the dome, where they will sit 24/7 @ 84*F with 65%H for a week. Opening the top once a day for an hour or so. I seem to have 100% success with this method and it only took me 2 years to figure out. :peace: Comments welcome.

yes your right many ways.my ? is i see you are not cutting any nodes to dip in the rooting compound. myselfi found 18/6 lighting was better for me.

Cutting nodes to dip into the rooting compound? Whats that mean?

If a clone is larger which are the 18/6'ers I will trim the fan leaves a bit to focus more root growth. I just went to check on them and they are standing straight now. Pics in the morning. Roots in 24 hours.

Update:
Here are two more done today and the ones from yesterday have adjusted just fine. And I wanted to say that in the dome, the humidity gets to 98-99% and 65% when open. I had no idea it went that high, but they are doing excellent.

She looks old, how old? Those little shoots will become veg pretty big, but how much longer does it take? That was taken from a mom in 18/6? whats she look like?

Anyone else use the rockwool then go hydro? Im about to prepare some with the hydroton and baskets! first time with hydro in over 5 years. Only going to try two, rest go to patients.. Pics soon!

Well I wanted to have a medium that my patients could put in either hydro or soil...right? Do you put those brown foam like things in hydro? I guess you could...?!

You can definitely put rapid rooters in hydro... They are very handy, and I find that they root better than RW, not to mention feel better on the skin than RW.

well what a scam....I thought I needed these RW cubes! well its all good I've found its easier to regulate moisture in the RW, and roots a lot faster. I'll use the rapid rooters for personal use only. :)
