How does this look?

How does this setup look? I am having problems keeping the temps up so I am using a small heater until I find a better solution. Venting the light into the room does not seem to help.

600w HPS, Multi-Flow 12 pot system, CO2 enriched (not active right now...I'll have the CO2 tank next week), Humidity between 45-60% temps are a problem, not too high, but too cold. It was getting down into the mid/high 50's in the grow area. In the mornings the plants were a faded green/yellow color, and the leafs just looked stressed! I added the heater to bring the heat up to about 80 degrees. The plants look more relaxed now, less yellowing.

Now I am having an algae issue:cry:. Am I correct that about 1.5 cups of H2O2 into 50 gallons of H2O will help cut down the algae? What does the H2O2 do to the pH and the eC levels? The algae is definitely causing a problem with the pH rising...every day!

These clones have been in place for 3 days under HPS at 18/6. I am using Ionic nutrients eC 1.8 - target pH 5.8, but it keeps climbing. I am using Earth Juice - Natural Down to adjust the pH.

I will be getting a light mover and 6 more pots really soon!

Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

nice setup you should wrap that room in black and white poly or mylar, where do you live where temps are that low??

on the H2O2 question look in hydro section here for Al B FAQt ots quite a long post but Al B is a serious proponant of H2O2 and has it posted every few pages how often and at what levels to use it at ,,, the heat question ... is the duct you are ucing to cool your hood drawing air from outside the room ?
if so drop it so as to draw air from inside the room and dump as well into the room that will leave all the heat from your light in the room .
then set your exhaust fan on a t-stat parraleled with a speed controller that will
allow it run slowly all the time circulating air and then kick on full speed when / if temps get too high.
that and you can consider running your heater on a thermostatically controled outlet so that it comes on automatically when it needs to ... the thermo on the outlet is a lot more accurate than the low / md / hi settings af your common portable heater

wow that is a sweet ass set up, very spacious, i like it. seriously tho i wish i had your problem i cant keep my heat down. this is my first grow and i started the first oh week and a half on flourencent lighting then i got my 600 watt hps and have been having heat issues with that bad boy since ive plugged it in, my temps went from holding 76-80 to like mid 90's. i have a thermo that keeps track of max. and min temps and you can reset them as much as you want but it helps to just see the next morning or whatever what your temps got up to overnight or what the low was, i hit 104 this morning and tried doing some fine tuning and only made it worse, just 2 hours ago i hit 108 so i totally freaked and did some quick readjusting to my AC and my temp is currently at 95.7 and hopefully still dropping. i wish i could help you but im new in this sport and its way harder than i thought... but i guess maybe get your heater closer to your plants and keep the air around them at optimal temp. i just pointed my AC Fan more directly at my plants and it seems to be helping alot but im still waiting for feedback on my thread. I live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, at 7K above sea level. It's already getting damn cold at night here. It should be easy to make the GDP color up nice!

Humidity w/o the humidifier is between 17-25% so resin should be good too!!! ;-)

I want mylar...but it costs money and I ran out after buying all the stuff for the rest of the setup. I still need to make a simple DWC setup for the veg room. I am going to try and grow from seeds, instead of clones.

I am getting a piece of white poly to put under the pots to reflect light and catch H2O.

Thanks for pointing me at the FAQ...I'll go there next. Tomorrow I will use the light blower to setup a recirculating draft. Now it takes air from the veg room, causing negative pressure in the veg area drawing in fresh air from several passive intakes.

Last time I did this with a 1K MH - big umbrella style hood, no exhaust whatsoever...and heat buildup was incredible!!! This time I build the room with temp control in mind and I can't get the damn room over 75 without a heater to save my life!!!

Thanks...I'll post more pics and updates later!!!

Just use flat white paint. H202 will not effect your TDS readings at all. Put an air stone in your rez too that will help cut down on the algae growth. looks good!:peace:

Thanks for the compliment. I am truly lucky to have such a nice area. I want to put lino on the floor but I ran out of money!!! For now, the 35+ year old carpet will have to do.

I don't want to paint the walls...they are knotty pine. I am getting some H2O2 today. I'll get an air stone/pump later in the week. The pH held steady overnight at 5.7 and the eC held firm at 1.80. The pH comes up to 6.0 after the light has been on for about 3 hours...hmmm I also took the reading as the nutes came back out of the pots...that could have something to do with the elevated reading.

I set up the hood blower to recirculate the air. The temp holds steady at 80 degrees now, but I had to use the heater to get the temp up to about 78 before it stabilized. The overnight temp with the heater set on low was 65 degrees.

I wish I could get them to green up and grow faster!!!

Is it bad to smoke in front of the ladies? My wife keeps nagging on me about smoking in front of the ladies, says it's like cannibalism. Do you guys smoke in your grow areas?

Your walls are pretty, you can always go with white plastic, I don't smoke in my grow rooms personally. Once they get a little bigger and the roots develop you will start seeing some explosive growth! Keep us updated and best of luck to you!
