They give food for the plant intill they die. Once they die, you gotta find another way for the plant to eat. They always die, no matter what

Like he said, they are the only source of food for the plant at this age. Regardless of what their purpose is, they should
not be dieing this early. They should start dieing at around week 2 1/2 - 3 when the stems skin starts to shed. Something is causing them to die prematurely
You need to do some trouble shooting.
How long does it take for the soil to dry out? i think it must be over watering or time release nutes in the soil.

with that being said, im not going to water for awhile maybe 2-4 days. hopefully growth will be at a faster rate

according to lessons from my past biology class, all leaves take in Co2, water and make glucose(food/sugar). she also gets her food from soil, i think. the top of the soil dries out in 2 days which made me water more often . lesson learned i was transplanting her into a permanent home and man the soil was quite moist underneath the top layer. im definitely going to start extending the time between watering days because less seems better

Yes, that's photosynthesis, that's not relevant.
Like with most plant seedlings, It gets all the food it needs from the cots. Alot of people only supply them with
micro nutes which are usually present in proper seedling soil anyway but it's not essential at this stage.
The main nutes come 2-3 weeks after sprouting because the seedling doesn't need it and you could
burn it.
If your soil says it has time released nutrients then it has food in the soil. If it doesn't then it doesn't have any.
Every time you water you release nutrients into the soil. The nutes are in little water soluble capsules. Alot of
people have burnt their seedlings by using soil with time release nutes.

You give it as much water as it needs and no more because oxygen still needs to get to the roots.

thats exactly what i meant anyways thanks for the tips i appreciate it. and should i supercrop her now or wait til she has 2-5 nodes?
