Seriously, i haven't grown the rock-hard buds that i have often seen in clubs. They ARE nice and tight but not the type that will break a tooth off your grinder. In the end, i prefer it that way (since i don't transport any and have to worry about bulk) and so do those fellow patients that i happen to have shared with.
Preference i guess.

If you trim small leaves when wet you will definitely remove a lot of the trichomes (just look at your scissors).....I just trim big leaves first like others have stated then trim the smaller stuff when dry before the cure jars......splits the trimming in half instead of all at once which can be an aching experience......

I'm calling bullshit on the better smell, and that's why you buy lots of scissors, at the very least two pairs for each trimmer, and there's always a big jar of alcohol and scissors in the middle of the table, so people can switch for a clean pair every so often.

Resin makes scissors sticky. Alcohol dissolves resin. Having a least two pairs of scissors for each person trimming means that one pair can be soaking in alcohol while the other is in use. When the pair being used gets too sticky, it goes in the alcohol, and is replaced by the pair that has been soaking.
When we trim, it's anywhere from four to ten people going at it, so there's always this big jar of scissors soaking in alcohol in the middle of the table.

There's some pretty nice organics in Cali too. I do hydro but I only use the minimum amount of products I need. Most of those hydro products don't give you a greater benefit than their cost. The secret to all the good bud in Cali isn't nutrient products, it's good consistent environmental conditions and good genetics, just like everywhere else. Cali just has the bonus of easier access to good genetics and an optimal environment.
If you get good clones, flood your room with high levels of Co2, make sure you don't have deficiencies, and keep your temp/humidity right, you're going end up with great bud. It has little to do with nutrient additives.

Doesn't your bud lose it's good smell quick if you store it in turkey bags? My girlfriend's mom does that and that's what happens to hers. Sure, the jars are super annoying, but it's way worth it IMO because the buds stay fresh longer.
All my buds go in glass jars in a room with all the windows blacked out and a dehumidifier. They keep forever that way.

Trim off all fan leaves/leaves with out crystals. Throw out those leaves. hang em up. When the stems snap instead of bend then you're ready to trim. Trim em and that trim will make you great hash or butter. Then put em in a jar. Go in a couple days later and check out your jars. If there is condensation on the jars open them up, wipe off condensation, let em dry out until the stems start to snap instead of break again. Repeat as often as you need, checking your buds to see if the stems snap or bend. Bending = jar lids off, snapping = jar lids on. When that process is done then in the jar for a couple more weeks. When you open the jars then and start to smoke, you'll be very happy with the results.

Yep. It works. Leave em in there for 20 minutes and they'll wipe off clean.

Never thought about that. I use the same cup of vegetable oil for months at a time though. It's probably dank as fuck!

I don't store my smoke in bags, but they're good for curing. It's a lot easier opening up and re-closing bags several times a day than dozens of jars.

Hook the thingy to a Foodsaver machine, put the lid on the jar, put the thingy over the lid, suck all the air out, pop it off and then screw the ring on. I swear it's the greatest invention ever, and I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. Crack open a jar a year later, and the buds smell exactly like they did when you put them up. Love it.
