Just wondering how you trim your freshly harvested bud...whether its real short n down to the bone, or leave most of the leaves on..?? Pretty much just want know how you all prepare to dry and manicure your buds for drying and curing....

I mean are you supposed to leave it kindy leafy because of the trichomes on the leaves and it just folds over the bud or what?

If you got have pics of your buds drying that would be awesome and I'll have some rep waitng for ya as well..

I hate leafy bud. I trim them nice and close looks better and smokes better in my opinion. Leaf is for making hash and butter not for smoking!

Actually I just harvested...so I am trying a few different methods...

1. Trim to the bone..then put in cardboard box

2. Trim to the bone... then hang

3. Cut just a few big fan leaves off and hang

4. Don't trim at all and just let the whole plant (Main Cola) hang..

Conclusions so far.. Option #4 seems to be working the best so far...These are the ones that smell the most like weed.

Option #1 and #2 a friend just told me the cure will probably take longer... and they smell nothing like weed....can't describe smell but def not like #4

Only problem is if you dont trim when you freshly chop...it will be harder to trim because once dried the leaves will start curling up into the buds....

Maybe one of these seasoned professionals out there in RIU land can correct me if I am wrong....

Hope this helped PEACE :leaf:

Newgrowth is right on but I've been trimming as close as possible but too many small leaves get stuck into the real bud because everything is so sticky. Even when I'm meticulous with a great pair of Swiss scissors, once they hang for a day or two those damn hidden leaves pop up as they dry. just have to trim twice before drying. BTW, save it all for bubble.
