How do you tell the difference between hemies and males?

Just like in real life, males have all balls while hermies have nut's & other parts.

9 times outta 10 you'll allready have all the males pulled from the grow so you just gotta watch out for pollen sacks (aka balls) within the buds.

A few pictures might help... I'm taking a lot of macros on my plants, but I don't have everything organized just yet. I've found one plant that has some weird parts, and lots of others that I'm not sure are even pre-flowering just yet.

Heres my latest discoverys.

This is what I think is a male, but he only has 2 balls, (one either side)
I thought they were usually in clusters.

This is one of my females.

If these pics are of the same plant, it appears it may have hermie tendencies. If I only had a couple of instances of male-ness, I'd pinch it off. Very nice pics.

Yes. And God dammit, I have SO MANY FUCKING PICTURES. I have a few plants that are pretty unmistakably female, and ONE that I know has to be a male. The others, though... I'm just not sure. I can't help but wonder if hermaphrodites in Cannabis can be like human hermaphrodites and have an almost infinitely variable range of hermaphroditic expressions. If so, I.. I may be fucked.

How often can outdoor growers experience hermaphrodism?

Mostly true, but not entirely true. Some seeds have high hermaphrodite characteristics, as such they will go hermie regardless of stessors.
That trait is usually passed on because they came from Hermie parents though. All feminized seeds come from a hermie at one point in their life.

so now that we know what a hemie is, what is recommended to do with them? im guessing trowing it into the compost pile since it can also cause your other girls to produce seeds.?
