150gm of shake and trim, 1.5lb butter, 4 quarts of water, simmer for 6 hours. Strain through cheese cloth. Press the plant material through cheese cloth in a potato ricer to get the rest of the butter into the pot. Throw the plant material away. Cool off and put the pot in in the reefer. Next day break out the butter plug and throw the rest away. You will get about 1 lb finished.
Substitute for oil or butter in any recipe.
Beware...this shit will fuck you up!

I've been wondering this. Does putting water in the same pot as the butter do basically the same thing as a double boiler? I learned to make ganja butter with the double boiler method. You don't have to separate anything that way. Just strain the butter, let it cool, and put it in the fridge.
