How do you label ?

I need to label clones from now on. I guess its called a controlled reversal hunt. Perpetual clones and mothers setup. Losing performance.

So idk what Im gonna do maybe somn like ABCDEF for 6 clones then do the number for the clone generation from that, idk. Like A1 is mom A2 is test clone to flower.

So C2 is clone from mom C1 because Im flowering C0 to keep the harvests coming and testing at same time.

Now how to label… Get the sewing machine lol jk. Idk I need to think about it. This thread is a good idea.

thats all i wanted to do is start an idea for myself or something else, this might be to much, however now i will have tags for each grow, im going to go thru in my down time and make some for each seed im sitting on, hoping the last few don't look like poop

I think Il just use colored zipties since the moms are put until selected the generation will stay at where it is. Well that was easy. Im not good with tracking that sort of stuff but if I just knew how to work my way backwards it will help with understanding breeding and preserving etc.

Just gets complicated like I know how family tree works to some extent but that we all somehow come from the same place almost. I just dont get it with breeding how you create a strain I get lost easy. I needed some help with AI to figure out this controlled mini hunt.

That is getting me on the right track to understanding it tho.

I use a variety of tags, I've a roll of masking tape and a permanent marker for smaller pots/plants i also mark the lids for easy id.

Harvesting plants I cut a plastic bag into strips and put the name on them then tie to the plants.

I've used these plant Id tags they're OK maybe a little awkward trying to see plants that out of reach.

Masking tape or id tags make the most secure method (100% to date) but lids are easiest to read at a glance.

White ribbon is for the date that the plant goes into the flowering tent. Yellow is for pollination information: date of pollination and strain of pollen source. Red is for anything that we want to give extra attention to. Pink is to designate females. Dodger Blue is a strain ID tag for clones and the teal-turquoise identifies seedlings by strain name.
