how do you create and maintain

a happy and healthy Mother plant. what light cycle, what nutes, and how do you keep the height down on a mother plant. how do you creat one with reg seeds and female seeds? how do you sustain it? what lgiht mh? i need experienced growers on this one.

Light sched? 18/6 20/4 24/0 (what ever you use for vegging.)

One nice thing about 'working' a mom, is that you learn topping well.

I had kept a micro mum in an areogarden. I'd cut it down to almost nothing every 2 weeks.

Always leave a node or 2 (or more) on the branch when cutting down (if for clones or just maint) Those nodes will generate new branches.

As for seeds, stick with reg (non fem seeds) You will find them a bit more stable (your mileage will vary)

Veg nutes. You are keep it in veg state.

How to top and trim all depends on your grow style, needs, abilities, etc.

Make 2 or 3 moms and experiment on what works for you. You can even do one thing (trimming-wise) to one side and something different to the other.

so the key to maintaining a healthy mother and have it in the veg state is to keep topping and grooming it?? so using fem seeds arent really good when creating mothers?

No reason to buy fem seeds if you have a momma. just buy reg seeds (typically more stable anyways) and keep a female for a mother.

you dont necessarily have to flower a plant in order it to be come a mother right?

no, not at all. most mothers are never flowered......u cut off a clone and put it under 12/12 to sex it.

so how long do you veg for before you start taking clones? do you just switch to 12/12 for a few weeks to see sex??
