LOLOL how true. But in the defense of most men. They wer sane before we got married, then 6 months later something happened to her lol. I learned form experience. But i wasnt growing indoors then. She said he has weed on him!! hes a dealer!! the cops looked at her one mutterred i wouldnt blame him... When the cops came up i was tokin out back. didnt have a fuckin clue she called the cops. Didnt know we were fighting...Im not a violent person easy going was polite to them. They didnt search or ne thing... Just member the crazy ones r fun n bed but thats it...

I think it's because women have this thing in their heads that says once they are married, they have to be a "married woman", aka boring. My wife was a freak before we got married. Now, she tries to be this perfect little suburbia, tv show wife. I just look at her when she rolls her nose at me smoking and say, "I saw you beer bong a fifth of tequilla in Cancun, quit acting all anal."

Otherwise, yeah meter readers will get ya...if not them, then the power company will usually see a spike in the energy consumption, and request to have a look-see to see if you have any "energy leaks", but we all know they just look for a grow room, and if found, call the police...

They used to use thermal imaging, but equipping helicopters with cameras good enough to discern the heat from a heated house and a basement grow room is EXTREMELY expensive, let alone pilots, fuel, etc.

The electric company has no vested interest in hunting down grow ops as a part of thier function. If a meter reader stumbles onto you, and turns you in, that would be on him and not policy set by the utility company. The utility company CAN request a look see to check for damage to lines, and CAN come on the property to check only as far as the connection to the house. ANY delivery type person UPS, FedEx, Jehovahs Witnesses etc. can be a snitch. Especially with the TIPS line and the $1000 reward.
We tend to give the cops more credit than they are due. They as individuals are certainly no smarter than us, and most of the time, less intelligent than your average grower. What they have going for them is a COLLECTIVE intelligence network. When they work together, (a rare occurrance), they have alot of info at thier disposal.
For instance, say you pissed off your girlfriend, & she rats you out. The cops now have a somewhat reliable witness, but they will usually need more. They (the cops) can THEN gain access to records such as your utility useage. While it may not show a huge increase in power, it CAN substantiate the fact that you are growing due to your useage cycles. Cops know the drill too, and a 12 on 12 off cycle would be a dead giveaway. But the cops will have to ask for those records, the elect. co. will NOT usually offer it.
As for the feds working with the State and local authorities, unless you live in Miami, or another "High Profile" area, forget it. MAYBE a DEA copter will fly over you with FLIR, and MAYBE (days or weeks later) an attentive image interpreter will pick up on your heat sig, and just MAYBE that person will forward that info to the locals. It's highly doubtful, tho. If you have 30 or so plants, you are in a good position. You are big enough for the grow to be worth while, yet not so big as to pop up on the law enforcement radar, unless someone tells the locals how many you got. they cannot tell from FLIR, or utility useage how many plants ya have. MOST major metro areas DO have FLIR on board the choppers (thanx to a federal grant), but they use them to fly over large areas, if at all. FLIR images MUST BE interpreted by an expert in the IR field to be used as evidence in court. The images from the fly-overs are then sent to some folks who will "interpret" the images, and then forward that interpretation to other depts. And so forth. the bigger the beauracracy, the longer it takes.
An increase in power consumption of say, 6000 watts is NOT an immediate tip off. It might raise eyebrows, but that could be atributed to any number of legal pursuits, or additions to your home power grid.In short, unless you are trying to corner the North american market, just dont tell anyone and you should be fine.
If you are kinda big, a good idea would be to lay around $500 on a bondsman, and $500 to $1000 on an attorney as a retainer, and keep a stash of cash somewhere handy. Thats a SMART investment, and money well spent.

When I got popped back in the really early 80's, a DEA agent agreed that they could not catch a cold unless someone told them where it was, and what time it would be there!!!!!

Generally speaking, they will have to convince a Judge that they have sufficient evidence to obtain a warrant. It HAS TO BE SIGNED BY A JUDGE. It isn't like they have a bunch of them in a drawer somewhere that they can just go back and get. If they have nothing more than the fact that you refused to let them search, they may as well leave. No judge wants to be overturned, or burned issuing a warrant based upon insufficient, or constitutionally deficient information.
Now in reality most detectives have a judge who will issue a warrant based upon the officer swearing that they have probable cause, but god help that cop if the warrant gets tossed for lack of probable cause.
In short, it aint just that easy for a cop to get a warrant. They would love us to believe that they can just go get one, but they can't. If they show up at your door, and ask if they can come in, or if you have a problem with them "looking around" they haven't got shit. If they did, they'd show up WITH a warrant.

If cops come to your door, go out and close the door behind you. Answer thier questions, be polite, but refuse to let them enter the premises without a warrant. DO NOT let them intimidate you into believing that they have to make a "required" search of the premises, or that they will "just come back with one". You do not owe them an explanation. just say no, and goodnight officer. Trust me, thats the last you'll see of them.

A suggestion, put a video camera (real or fake) outside and aimed at your door. If they start intimidation tactics, or try to bully thier way in, just point to the camera and say "Smile, we are being recorded, and I have this whole thing on tape". I guarantee that they will change thier tune!!!

Do you have anything to back this up? I ask because by the same token, wouldn't opening your car door for a police officer also consent to a search? I *know* that one isn't true.

They are not allowed to use that heat radar anymore in people houses, its been counter lawed, you are safe as long as you dont get snitched on, or as long as the smell doesnt conquer
